The president called her even more often than we had thought. The more I read about Blanco and the mayor, the more incompetent I realize they area.

My co-workers at school are saying Bush didn't provide federal aid quickly enough. They point to this and I'm getting confused:

That is a link to Blanco's letter of August 27. She asks for 9 million dollars in federal aid, and describes what it will be spent on. Once you point that out, you co-workers mught discover Blanco's August 28 letter to the President. That letter asks for 130 million if federal aid, justifies the request and expresses how the money will be spent. TO be fair, the storm hadn't hit on the 28th, and Blanco was urging her constituents to pray it would miss the city and state.

Did Blanco mistakenly thought Federal Aid included the Federal Troops too?

No. Read her letters. She knows exactly what she is asking for. Not that she has good judgement, or leadership qualities especially when under fire, but she does understand the basic principles of disaster relief - and she has delegated authority to underlings to manage the details, e.g. Mr. Art Jones to be the State Coordinating Officer.

And she's not being held accountable. Bush is called a racist but no one says anything about her 'slow response'.......She's immune from criticism because she's a dumb incompetent dingbat DemocRAT woman!! It reminds me of Reno getting away with murder in Waco!

Bush has taken responsibility for any "slow" federal response to the devastation left by Katrina. Funny, I don't recall Nagin or Blanco taking responsibility for the slow local and state response.
