Forbes targets immigrants in gangs (MS-13 in Va.)
The Washington Times ^ | 9-15-05 | Gary Emerling

U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes said gang-related violence, such as the 2002 rapes of two deaf teenagers by MS-13 members, has spurred him to combat such activity with legislation that would crack down on immigrants involved in criminal gangs. "We heard of kids coming home from school and they can't even go outside; they have to stay hunkered down because of the gang activity out there," the Virginia Republican said. "As we saw that we realized we had to do something or it was going to be totally out of control." Mr. Forbes has introduced a bill that would allow the government to deport aliens and immigrants who are not permanent residents of the United States and belong to criminal gangs. He said hearing about the gang-rape of the two girls -- one of whom was wheelchair-bound and suffering from cerebral palsy -- in a Boston park by up to six youths three years ago pushed him to introduce the legislation. "The country's thrust up to this point in fighting gang activity is wait until they kill somebody, hurt somebody or rape somebody and then go after them," he said. "We just don't find that" working.

Just how many laws do illegals get to break before they're actually arrested and deported.

How much do 10000 border patrol agents costs (include training, healthcare, equipment, etc) vs a Wall? A wall would pay for itself the first year it was built. Hell if we can give NO 100Billion+ dollars to rebuild that scum hole then why cant we defend the nation with a wall.

These MS-13 members aren't citizens, nor are they immigrants, nor are they mere illegal aliens. They are enemy combatants, and should be dealt with by the same forces who would respond if a large team of well-armed North Korean commandos parachuted onto US soil.

I notice that when there were innocent law abiding gun owners in New Orleans to have their arms conficated by well equipped jackbooted thugs, the govn't was Johnny-on-the-spot. When it comes to MS-13 who are making our lives miserable this very moment, the govn't does nothing but pass more laws.

The way to combat the MS-13 is to kill them all.

ICE ARRESTS 14 MEMBERS & ASSOCIATES OF MS-13 GANG IN NEW JERSEY ON DRUG CONSPIRACY

America's Most Dangerous Gang - MS13 - Violent, Vicious, and Spreading Fast.

The Most Dangerous Gang in America

ALEXANDRIA - It took a violent machete attack and a brazen daylight shooting for the Mara Salvatrucha street gang to command the kind of attention police believe it deserved as it grew in Northern Virginia for more than a decade.

In May 2004, a 16-year-old boy in Fairfax County had several fingers chopped off in an attack by a machete-wielding assailant. A week later, a 17-year-old youth was shot dead in Herndon by an assailant on a bicycle.

Police blamed both attacks on Mara Salvatrucha, the Latino street gang known as MS-13 that has grown from its beginnings in the barrios of Los Angeles into what is considered the fastest-growing and most dangerous gang in the country, its menacing presence now detected in more than 30 states.

I get the impression that this law is directed at those who have legal status. Forbes wants to chuck them out just for being in a criminal street gang, something that isn't permitted by present law, I gather. It's better than nothing, I suppose, but we aren't even making much of an effort to find and toss out the illegally-present gang members. If we aren't bothering to go after the low-hanging fruit like those guys, what's the chances that we'll see much enforcement of this measure? I'm guessing that nobody's going to go out actively looking, they'll just use Forbe's law to get rid of them when they're picked up on suspicion of something. That's assuming this law is even enacted, which is a BIG 'if'.

Here's a novel idea - instead of wasting more time and tax dollars, how about enforcing current laws against illegals?
