And it's people like your siblings, who have worked all their lives and at age 60+ lost their homes in MS definitely deserve help, I have absolutely no quarrel with that at all.

In fact thruout many threads I have mentioned that it was a disgrace that the MSM have totally ignored the good people of MS. So I apologize to you and your siblings, this was definitely not meant at folks in MS, they are being ignored,
I am praying for folks like you and yours at age 60 having to pick up the pieces. Lets hope all this good stuff promised to what appears to be just NO will be given to you and yours in MS. God Bless. It's people like you all who don't demand they be taken care of and are grateful for help when they absolutely need it. And have not been on welfare all their lives.

I can relate to that, I too have worked all my life and still am working to get what little I may have and have given to my family, but I still believe that taxpayers money is not to be spent as if it were a charitable donation, our generation and generations to come will have to pay for the government wasting money or being overly generous with taxpayers money.

We all live in areas where we are at the mercy of nature, we live in an area where there are tornadoes. We are all at risk, and we like you have never looked for a handout we are those few that work and work, pay taxes and believe in less government, stop government waste, and are fiscally conservative Republicans. And what the President proposed is wasteful spending pure and simple!

It will not be wasteful if it renews an area of the country that is VITAL to our economy. New Orleans is an important port and it's infrastructure has been ignored for decades by political corruption. If you notice in the 'fine print' of this proposal, the money will not be given without oversight. Granted, bureaucrazies will be managing it, but it won't be a gift to the Democrat Machine in Louisiana as the levee monies have been for so long.

South Mississippi is also has a vibrant economy separate from the gambling. The casinos will re-build because they made goo-gobs of money, and they know they will again. It is the small family owned businesses that will need help getting started again. I have absolutely NO problem helping them because they are not contributing tax revenues to the government while they are idle. See, it's not solely altruism; it's also economics that's driving the President to offer to help re-build the region.
