Huckabee Says He's Thinking Of Presidential Run
WMC Stations ^ | 9/17/05

Posted on 09/17/2005 4:35:32 PM PDT by areafiftyone

DES MOINES, Iowa Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has opened a two-day visit to Iowa by saying he's pondering a run for the Republican presidential nomination. He said in an appearance tonight on Iowa Public Television's "Iowa Press" program that he'll make a decision in about a year.

He said, quote, "What I really want to sort through in this process is would there be something unique that I would bring to the discussion," end quote.

During his visit to Iowa, Huckabee is scheduled to meet with Republican leaders and members of the state's influential Christian Coalition. Then he plans to attend a Polk County Republican picnic tomorrow night.

Huckabee is completing his second term as governor and can't run again, leading to speculation he'll either seek the G-O-P presidential nomination or run for the U-S Senate.

Huckabee is among a large field of potential candidates who have already begun courting activists in Iowa, where precinct caucuses open the nominating season. New York Governor George Pataki was in the state earlier in the week, while Kansas Senator Sam Brownback will join Huckabee at tomorrow's G-O-P picnic.

The right rev huckster - an extreme liberal democrat that calls himself a republican.

he is FAR from being a good guy.

How many examples do you want?

Let's start with the last? He has been attacking BUSH non-stop since the day of the hurricane -- tell you something?

How about his backing illegal aliens in Arkansas and offering college to them?

More to come....!

Huckabee should get on with his life of serving all the people. Pasturing a large Church might be his real calling.

He's definitely not Presidential material, and unless the Illegal vote is counted, he won't come close to carring his own State.

Mike Huckabee for Prez? Hmmm.

Does he believe in the WOT and fighting terrorism over there and not over here? Is he pro-military? Does he support tax reform? Does he believe in limited govt and reducing govt spending? Is he pro-life and does he believ in the right to life for all humanity? Does he believe in securing the borders, punishing employers who hire illegals and halting all welfare handouts to illegals? Does he believe in nominating jurists to the USSC who believe in the Founders idea of original intent?

The right Rev Guv Huckabee - personal head of the Banana Republik of Arkansas he helped create --- He has also bragged that the quality of education at least hasn't gone DOWN lately. I suppose that could be a plus ??

Gov. Huckabee criticized an "immigration bill" (Senate Bill 206) by Republican senators Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith "as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life." The bill would have require proof of citizenship to register to vote and also force state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally.

A LOT more of Huckabee's GOP-style governing right here on FR!

What the heck, another fellow who was once governor of Arkansas announced he wanted to be President, and by golly, if he didn't get ELECTED. Of course, he never really served as president, he just occupied the Oval Office and fairly or otherwise ran the perks of that office into the ground, doncha know.

Governor Huckabee seems to be made of much better stuff, and if he presents his program right, no reason he can't catch national attention.

On March 26, 2003 Arkansas Legislators - led by Jodie Mahony (D-El Dorado) - passed HB1729/Act 798 that LEGALIZED (by removing ALL laws against):

Any organization which advocates or teaches the overthrow by force or violence or other unconstitutional means of the governments of the United States or the State of Arkansas.

It was signed into law with a smile by "Right Rev Guv" HUCKABEE

Act 798 / HB1729 (pdf) AN ACT TO REPEAL OBSOLETE PROVISIONS OF THE ARKANSAS CODE CONCERNING THE COMMUNIST PARTY AND for other purposes

I don't know of the issues of which you are speaking but I attended the Polk Co. Republican event in DM last night and Huckabee gave a heck of a speech. He spoke a long time and I liked everything he had to say. So did the other ultraconservatives that attended with me.

Brownback also was extremely impressive. Poor Tancredo got lost in the din. I can honestly say the only thing I heard him say was that immigration is a very huge issue.

Arkansas (huckabee) had the direct links to that bill pulled THIS WEEK! (It was available as of 2 days ago!) , but it can still be found through the back door searching through their maze of old legislation.

If you want to know exactly the paragraph I am refering to in this state surrender to communism and terrorism blackmail - here is the paragraph that was REMOVED from the law describing UNLAWFUL / ILLEGAL (can't use THAT term anymore) treasonous organizations that include:

(1) The Communist Party of the United States;

(2) The Communist Political Association;

(3) The Communist Party of any state of the United States, of any foreign state, or any political or geographical subdivision of any foreign state;

(4) Any section, subsidiary, branch, affiliate, or subdivision of any such association or party; or

(5) Any organization which advocates or teaches the overthrow by force or violence or other unconstitutional means of the governments of the United States or the State of Arkansas.

#5 above is the section that now allows MECHA & AZTLAN (Mexican Communists), Al Quaeda and all those other islamic jihadist terror organizations and any other OPENLY treasonous organization that is actively recruiting suicide bombers, baby murderers, and other assorted cowards who cannot face out military so they have to murder civilians.

THERE is your dear - "right rev guv" --- I am beginning to wonder which mosque he operates out of!

If you want to read the entire BILL and ACT as signed by the "Right Rev Guv" ...

I am leaning towards,Pence or Brownback myself. I know a guy who knows Pence personally. If he proves he has the means... who knows.
