"ACLU will love this.."
Nothing the ACLU can do. The RCC is not a part of any US government entity, and this is an internal church matter for the RCC. If any court or legislature can change RCC policy, then they will also be able to stick their nose into the business of our church.
Our church denies licensing and ordination to sodomites (that means homosexuals). A sodomite may not play the piano, sing in the choir, or even lead in a prayer. In fact, our church would never knowingly accept a sodomite into the membership (we are "congregational" in government). We do not believe that a person having been regenerated by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5; etc.) upon faith in the Person, Merits, and redemptive Work of Jesus Christ, can continue in the sin of sodomy. Such regeneration is a prerequisite for church membership. No minister can alter these things, and if one attempts to do so that minister himself will be de-frocked and dismissed. What could the ACLU do? Nothing at all.
