Washington, September 20: A new organization called the US-India League has been formed by a group of leading American conservatives to draw the US, India and Israel closer in their objectives of fighting terrorism and setting an example of progress through democracy.
At its first meeting on Monday leading conservatives who spoke, including Don Feser, executive director, and Alan Keyes, a former Ambassador, emphasised that while India, the US and Israel may not agree on all issues, they are united in facing the most important challenges facing the world today.
On US-India relations, the League said in a mission statement it is a foreign and defence policy educational organisation dedicated to building awareness of the shared democratic ideals of the two countries and to promoting a strong, bilateral, strategic relationship as the anchor for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
Its Board of Advisors include Paul Weyrich (Free Congress Foundation), Gary Bauer (American Values), David Horowitz (Centre for the Study of Popular Culture) among others.
The League expects to send a delegation of 40 to India in 2006.
The beginning of the end for the United Nations?
We can hope!

Wow. That's a great conclusion.
Alan Keyes'll ruin it when he accuses someone of doing something un-Catholic.
Hopefully, Israel joins, and maybe we can get the UK involved and other nations...and slowly it would become more influential if this were to occur.
Why thank you. I like yours as well.
I think Israel has been fighting terror for decades now.
It would go much quicker if we stopped pouring money into he UN. Foreign aid should go to friends and developing countries working toward democracy (hopefully a Republican form of government), not thugocracy's demanding tribute. We have never been and never will be successful at buying friends, we should be encouraging good behavior and punishing bad.

Uh, well, it sounds kind of neat, the US and Israel and "the world's largest democracy". Even if it's possible only because all three have a common enemy in Islam. But, `the enemy of my enemy is my ally'.
Hope it works.
Excellent news.
