This was the kind of leadership sorely lacking in the crucial days of Hurricane Katrina's aftermath.

There is no way he could ever hold elected office... The PC crowd would demand he be fired! He reminds me of Patton and I loved Patton.

Honore: You are stuck on stupid. I'm not going to answer that question. We are going to deal with Rita. This is public information that people are depending on the government to put out. This is the way we've got to do it. So please. I apologize to you, but let's talk about the future. Rita is happening. And right now, we need to get good, clean information out to the people that they can use. And we can have a conversation on the side about the past, in a couple of months.
Touchdown !.

News Conference on Hurricane Rita: Lt. Gen. Honore: 'Don't get stuck on stupid, reporter'.
The general has a way with words.
I have to wonder if the mike missed one word and Lt Gen Honore actually said "Don't get stuck on stupid, stupid reporter".

A clear-thinking general goes up against a bunch of muddled-thinking, agenda-driven and self-serving reporters.

I was watching this when it took place. Does anyone know who the reporter was?

Reporters ask stupid questions. I think it comes from everyone actually believeing the old saying "there's no such thing as a stupid question". When I was training Army Warrant Officer Candidates many moons ago I told them that that old saying was stupid and yes there were stupid questions and I had better not hear any from them or there would be hell to pay. It made them put their brain in gear before they engaged their mouth. The result was a WO candidate who could and would think for himself. Same should apply to reporters, but then again I know that's asking a lot of some of them.

Thanks for helping start my day off right!
If LTG Honore' wants to run, I will vote for him for mayor of NOLA, governor of LA, POTUS, or even king!
But the job I would most like to see him take - press secretary for Bush. Helen Thomas would drop dead on hearing the reply to her first question.
Picture a drill instructor, running from the podium to get his face one inch from hers, as he screams "Don't get stuck on stupid, Helen".

One of the funniest Honore moments was a press conference he did with Chertoff a few weeks ago. Some reporter made a statement about slow response. Honore jumped all over the reporter. Truly funny listening to the reporters get an earful. Then Chertoff says he'll take one more question. A reporter starts his question when Honore walks off the stage muttering that he had more important things to do. Chertoff, in the middle of the reporters question, walks off the stage saying "I'm going with him".

I like him in the same way as I did Schwartzkopf during Desert Storm. I'd drop everything to hear Stormin Norman's 3:00 briefings. :-)
Thanks for the link, this gentleman is truly a breath of fresh air!

Thanks for the info rvoitier.
Honore: "Reporter your are stuck on stupid."
We need more politicians like Honore.

What General Honore did to those reporters is something a lot of Americans wished they could do to the MSM.
General Honore and too many Americans--> <-- MSM
To: rvoitier
I'm glad Honore confronted the reporters' stupidity, which really is a disguise for their predatoriness.
In August of 2004, nasty reporters repeatedly questioned Bush about the government's delayed response to Hurricane Andrew, which had occurred back in 1992.
GWB's adminstration was doing well handling hurricanes in 2004, but the libs' concubines (MSM) needed to associate the Bush administration with incompetence so they dredged up a hurricane from 12 years before..
They call themselves reporters. I call them predators.
