Posted on 09/21/2005 12:54:41 PM PDT by Zechariah_8_13
If you've got room for a FReeper and/or their family, please sign in.
And/or their pets...
We have room for people and pets. We're a little far from Texas, in Auburn, AL.
Yes I have a room for small family and or single gal although my Maddie would not tolerate a cat!
I have room for a single gal too, but she's got to be quiet and avoid detection by my wife.
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
Here in Fort Worth, the Redhead and I are already booked. We will be hosting my son-in-law's brother and his family from Conroe.
I'm in Michigan, but I have a spare room and room for a dog. Not sure about cats since my cats would have a fit. We'll see.
My wife and I have a room available for a military wife whose husband is deployed in the service of our country.
Kids are preferred and pets are ok as we have and love both.
Tranquil waterfall with koi in back yard. Private room with your own bathroom.
We will try to make you feel at home and we consider it a priveledge to help a military family.
If interested FReepmail me, dont be shy. Maybe yall can invite us to the coast sometime later, but its certainly no requirement. ;)
Yo, R. How's the altitude sickness?
I can take a family and some pets, but I live very far away, in south Florida, so I don't think that would help anyone. :-(
Was just wondering if you were still on the high road. . . . . .
Well, if she's not quiet, you can send her on over my way. No wife to worry about here, although the dog and the cat and my twelve year old daughter might be concerned.
I have my days... right now, I'm tired of the altitude sickness. BEWARE!!!
LOL. You are bad.
I'm pretty far north in St. Louis, but if anyone needs to go that far, I have room for two. It's a pretty tiny house but it has the necessities. I have two cats that might not take kindly to another, but I have family here that can help with that. A dog is no problem.
Home avail in Ocean SPrings MS. I was fortunate enough to have a place to move to after we lost everything in Katrina. I have a dog and teenage son staying there. If I'm needed Freepmail me. It's not a great place but it has all of it's walls and a ceiling.
I've got room for a single gal here in Denver, CO. You'd get your very own bed and bathroom. I've got two cats, so animals are AOK with me, but maybe not with them. We can discuss.
Freepmail me if interested!
Just south of Seattle, ship me your dog or cat if you need to. Rural setting with lots of room (small farm).
Freepmail me for more info. No time limits on the stay.
Located in Michigan
An excellent idea. Please ask Texas freepers to put their location in their tagline.

We're just north of Austin, only a mile off of I-35, and we can take your non-aggressive dog/s. We have one very submissive spayed female retriever.
Can't take cats due to the toxoplasmosis risk (pregnancy).
We may or may not have room for people-- waiting to hear from my neighbors - they have lots of family in Houston and might need the space we have.
Going to get a house-full of relatives + girlfriend from Houston. Good luck and God Bless. - Chris (North Austin)
Chris, where are you in N Austin? We almost bought in Allandale (really wanted Rosedale, though!).
just freepmailed you!
NC - People and animals welcome.
I suspect your wife would detect her! bwhahah
Can take a small FReeper family, couples or singles. Dogs okay. I'm in Mobile, Alabama. FReep mail me.
We have room for a family - we have a mother in law apartment with a separate entrance. We'll sqeeze upstairs to give someone a helping hand. Oh... that's in American Fork, UT.
(...how is a freeper going to do his/her freepin from a shelter? The horror...)
We are 1 hour north of Dallas and have room for 4-5 dogs (we have 2 spare empty pens in the back yard) and a spare bedroom for a couple or small family. We could even take a kitty or 2 and put them in a spare room. Freepmail if you want more info. TMG
I can't offer any lodging, because I live in the impact zone.
However, I wanted to remind pet owners who can't find any pet-friendly places to go that the Humane Society in the area which you're fleeing to can probably accomodate your pets while you are in the motel, shelter, or whatever.
I may have to drop my own pets off at a shelter north of here, since I am having a hard time finding pet friendly accomodations left.
I know my cats won't enjoy spending the weekend in a shelter, but I'm not going to choose between leaving them to drown, or staying to drown with 'em.
I live in North Austin in a one-BR apartment but it does have a queen sofa sleeper that can be used. No pets or smokers please. You'll need to get along with my parrot but she is usually well-behaved when company visits.
Not much on food/extras and can't be sure we won't lose electricity but flooding is fairly unlikely and it's a three-story brick building so I feel it will hold up unless a tornado hits it.
FReepmail me for phone number and directions. (I am a single male if that matters)
Far away in California, but willing to help anyone who needs a place to stay.
My coworker and I are NOT flying into AUSTIN, TX on THursday...duh, cuz of the weather.
There are CURRENTLY TWO HOTEL ROOMS reserved in Round Rock, TX that are going to get cancelled on THURSDAY AM...
This means they are going to be available to people moving out of the immediate coastal region.

Owl - you are reminding me so much of our friend, Henry. You're cracking me up. LOL
Another north-Austin freeper checking in ... I live near 183 & Spicewood Springs Rd... here's the weather report:
I remember suffering through 2 weeks of August heat and humidity without air conditioning after a hurricane on the Gulf Coast in the early 80s.
Howlin asked me to post this here from this morning's sign-in, but many campers have decided to move out and go further north since the upgrade to a Cat 5, but I'll be here.
I'm in Willis on I-45 which is about 50 miles north of Houston. I am staying here at my newly opened RV park taking in evacuees and keeping our club house open for our monthly campers. Anyone leaving Houston in an RV, we are only 1/2 mi. off interstate and our website is www.omegafarmsrv.com and we still have spaces available.
Be safe everyone and I am hoping and praying that Rita diminishes and goes in at the least populated area of the coastline.
