I just received a phone call from C-SPAN informing me that they will broadcast live in it's entirety the Rally to Honor Military Families this Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. EDT.
We're hoping for a large turnout so our troops overseas will know that what happens the day before the rally with the antiwar crowd does not reflect the majority of the country.
Please join us this Sunday at 4th Street on the National Mall (near the Air & Space Museum) as we pay tribute to military families, and their loved ones serving in our armed forces fighting the war on terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.

Big For a Dinner Party, Small for a Demonstration
.....After a carefully stage-managed vigil by liberal PR firm Fenton Communications, and a pair of 3-week long national bus tours to drum up support for her cause, "Mother Sheehan" managed to bring with her just this tiny gaggle with her to the gates of the White House.
The organizers backing her show hope to draw "tens of thousands" of fellow protestors this weekend, but if this sad crowd and last night's turnout of just 150 in New York are any indication, the fledging anti-war movement of Cindy Sheehan is all but dead.
Here they are: Ms. Sheehan and her 28 lonely friends:

Apparently to get larger crowds they are calling families and telling them there is going to be a "Support the Troops" rally . When one woman asked further questions (like is ANSWER part of your rally), the girl admitted they were.
These scum!
We need to change the name from "Support the Troops" to
"Complete the Mission with Honor"

Wonderful news! I'll be watching and wishing I could be there. I was there on 10/31/98 and again on May 4,1999. Both were great events. Health keeps me from traveling this time. Thank you Kristinn for all you do -- I so enjoy your posts.

Oh my! I wonder if that is who called me today? He said there was going to be a "support the war in Iraq rally" and asked me to come. Either way, I can't. Wish I could be there Sun.

UNBELIEVABLE!
No wait, it IS believable, but I'm at a loss for the word that describes it.

Congratulations to Kristinn and everyone who worked so hard to coordinate with C-SPAN.
If you're still thinking about driving a few hours - just do it! If you're too far away but still want to be a part of things, these events are not cheap. I saw where there's already been about $20,000 dropped into sound/stage equipment, portapotties, ambulances, etc. Consider donating a few bucks to the sponsors.

Too late to change the name. Besides, if they fool good people into coming out to support the troops, they're gonna naturally drift over to the American flags. :-)

Give a few good old Yankee Yells for me when you're in DC, Okay? Wish I could be, but had prior plans to be in good old sunny, blustery Kansas.

I am hoping that several Freepers get through to the talk shows tomorrow. Common on Laura, we need a bump. Common Rush, we need a bump. Common Tony, we need a bump. And Sean Hannity or Mark Levin. It's really disappointing that none of them has, to my knowledge, made mention of this effort. Perhaps now that C-SPAN is covering the rally it will be considered newsworthy.
