Time to "get right with Jesus," huh?
There's alot of voodo and witchcraft going on down there, I'm totally not surprised.
One would think that the ghosts would have been blown to Timbuktu. They can't be that heavy.:)
Is there a link to the text version of the story? I can't get the video to display.
Voo doo video.
Very interesting, especially the part about the two Bibles being opened to the same passages.
I don't think they have one up.
Yeah I thought so to Revelation 10 and 11.
I played it backwards and I swear I could hear the demon say "Can you help me find my mother?.... Hillary..anybody seen Hillary???"
Guardsmen Sense Ghostly Presence In New Orleans
Save It Email It Print It
(CBS5) The presence of the supernatural and the influence of voodoo long have been synonymous with New Orleans.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, members of the U.S. military are saying that there's something spooky going on and it's not just images of death and destruction that's haunting them.
By all accounts, the Sophie B. Wright Middle School in New Orleans sits empty and evacuated except for military personnel who have taken over the campus as a staging site for missions around the battered city.
But the men in uniform have the feeling that they're not alone. It prompted a chaplain to utter this directive: "In the name of Jesus Chris, I command you Satan to leave the dark areas of this building."
Said Sgt. Robin Hairston of the California National Guard: "I was in my sleeping bag and I opened by eyes and in the doorway was a little girl," . "It wasn't my imagination."
Hairston wasn't the only one seeing things. Spc. Rosales Leanor had her own close encounter.
"I was using the restroom and I just saw a little shadow," Leanor said, "kind of looming in front of me."
Another member of the Guard unit said that she saw and heard a little girl laughing when she opened a closet that contained cleaning supplies.
At a Baton Rouge marina, boats were strewn like trash, but not a shred of paper could be found. Except for the pages of a Bible, which was found by a soldier. It was open to the Book of Revelations.
At a nearby church, nearly destroyed, another Bible was found, showing the exact same passage from Revelations.
Like the power of nature, there is a power at work in New Orleans that defies explanation.
"Very interesting, especially the part about the two Bibles being opened to the same passages."
Yeah, I didn't care about the ghost part but the Bible one is definitely strange.
La conja ape vini!
Of course, all this stuff COULD be very useful in getting folks OUT of NO. If they spook easy, that is...
Marie Laveaux, the famous voodoo high priestess, is buried there (great tombstone, BTW). I've wondered if she's now floating around somewhere in her concrete box.
mmm ghost toasties in the morning
wow. talk about your spooky stories.
I think that the Lord is gathering the last of his believers before the rapture, and will gather many many more during the 7 year tribulation.
We think Katrina was bad... that is nothing compared to what will happen. People come to God when "all hell breaks loose", but unfortunately, most will not repent.
Re the ghosts...people can imagine ALOT in creepy/unusual situations. But 2 Bibles open to the same verse...makes me take notice.
save for better connection speed
Now that's scary!
What a load of...
No comment from Anne Rice?
Marie LaVeaux...she got the power...and there ain't nuthin' she don' know.
Conja ape vini!
"Conja ape vini!"
Thx for the text post. Does anyone have any idea which chapter from Revelations was found?
Chapters 10, and 11
I believe it. After my dad died, it sounded like someone walking through the house. It was a older home, with hardwood floors. Needless to say, I didn't tell anyone when it went up for probate auction. Heck, I'll bet whoever was walking, is sitting in the storage shed with the furniture : )
Those were not spirits. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
Interesting and spooky.
Voodoo you think you're foolin'
pinging for reference
I couldn't get the video either, any idea what it showed?
In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Soldiers Spooked By New Orleans Spirits(Video), Battle Hymn of the Republic wrote:

I find this very hard to reconcile with the concept of a loving, merciful God.
The news story made it sound like the Bible was referring to bodies of those killed in NO. In actuality it is referring to the bodies of the two Witnesses.
Total mis-interpretation of scripture in the news story...IMO.
Hopefully, this is just a prank or coincidence.
"I find this very hard to reconcile with the concept of a loving, merciful God"
Then you surely don't want to read Joshua.
It's just that hoodoo voodoo that yoda.....oh wait that's not quite right.

Maybe because your an idiot and don't know anything about theology?
Whole darn city is as haunted as can be. I've been there thrice and I'm convinced of it. Never had a good night's sleep there, not one night, and that's just not me. Hubby says it's because I'm Catholic, the ghosts don't bother him because he's a Presbyterian.
bump for later review
