To determine where to cut funding to cover Katrina and Rita, Bush should takes funds earmarked by state, mulitply it by his approval rating for that state and send them the resulting amount.

Has Bush decided to run for a third term? I hadn't heard the announcement.

Interesting

Alabama Bush 51% 44% 7%

Louisiana Bush 51% 46% 5%

Mississippi Bush 55% 43% 12%

All the states hit by Katrina rate the President at 51% or higher, If that doesn't show the effect of the medias smear job I don't know what would.....

What kind of grouchy, miserable people do they get to take these polls?

These polls are absolutely meaningless - non-election year polls are historically not worth the paper they are printed on -

Even more so when the weightings in these polls are ridiculous - Over representation of DEM's in polls today is becoming comical - (CBS news recently had DEM's weighted at close to 40% and REP at 30%) -

As the ratings are higher in the Katrina states than in the surrounding ones, just maybe the rest of the country takes a dim view of paying $250b to LA projects staffed by people from LA. Rubs me the wrong way.

I don't really believe these numbers but, I must say, I'm glad the election was last year and not this one.

Interesting, isn't it? People with first hand experience always know what is going on.
