This year, Congress dealt Hollywood a serious blow by passing legislation drafted to help parents keep their children from seeing sex scenes, violence and foul language in movie DVDs. The Family Entertainment and Copyright Act gave legal protection to fledgling filtering technology that lets users automatically skip or mute sections of movies.

What's funny is I don't really know whether the reporter who wrote this thinks it was a "serious blow", or whether Hollywood does. Either way, they're wrong. I really just don't get it. I mean, this filtering technology certainly isn't going to decrease their revenues; in all likelihood it will increase them. And it doesn't prevent anyone who wants to see the unedited version from seeing it.

"And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.

He said to them,

"It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you make it a den of robbers."

Matt. 21
