Hey, what the heck happened to that guy that was on Neil Cavuto yesterday that said he was going to fly into this thing and dump diapers into Rita and slow it down. I'm starting to think that didn't work out.

FoxNews.

Rick Leventhall reporting of some looting. Banner says Lake Charles, LA.

Wind is still too strong for police to be out patrolling yet. Still around 85 mph.

FoxNews reporting that 2.8 million evacuated in a 500 (sq) mile area of TX/LA.

Amazing.

Yesterday morning, Steve Doocey was reporting that there were no motel rooms available even in Oklahoma (OKC). They were telling people to travel on to Kansas. Those moving north through Arkansas were told to continue on to Memphis.

Daybreak should start showing video and pix of devastation like southern LA/MS/AL had.

Rick Leventhall, FoxNews, said he is hearing reports of buildings with structural damage in the Lake Charles area.

As Rite moves inland northward, she is hitting against a high pressure area.

There is a chance that that could either stall her, allowing her to drop many more inches of water, or, worst case, allow her to move southerly and gain strength.

TX/LA is not out of the woods by a long shot.

KPRC 2 Hou:

Strip mall in Pasadena, TX on fire.

Auto Zone (allot of chemical related products), Family Dollar and several other stores engaged.

Fire dept allowing it to burn itself out; they are spraying other area buildings to keep the fire (embers) from spreading.

Most power is out in Pasadena area.

We're ok so far, but it's bad. I mean REALLY bad. And we're not even on the bad side of the storm. Electricity went out around 9:30. We have huge oak trees down everywhere, filling up both the front and back yard. House next door has circuit breaker stripped & hanging from house -- huge white oak fell over elec lines, causing that damage.

The roar is not describable. Surreal. Listen to klvi.com. beaumont station taking live call-ins from all the people who couldn't or wouldn't evacuate. Can hear fear in their voices. Glad I'm not the nervous type or I'd be a basket case by now.

I fear what daybreak will reveal. Entire Golden Triangle area may be like this yard front and back.

Questions:
1. Where is eye right now & how strong are winds?
2. What's on TV?
3. Has Geraldo fallen yet?

Parts of Jefferson Parish are under 6 feet of water.

I guess Jeff Parish Pres will be crying on Timmy Russert's program tomorrow.
