Promoting worldwide defeat
By William Hawkins
Published September 22, 2005
Before Hurricane Katrina took center stage, President George W. Bush was making speeches in support of the war in Iraq. While commemorating the U.S. victory in World War II at San Diego Aug. 30, he warned of the al Qaeda strategy in Iraq, "They want us to retreat so they can topple governments in the Middle East and turn that region into a safe haven for terrorism." He posed the question "Do we return to the pre-September 11 mind-set of isolation and retreat, or do we continue to take the fight to the enemy?"
There will be a demonstration in Washington Saturday, organized by people who see the world and the war the same way the president does, but with one difference. They want America to retreat and its enemies to prevail.
The main sponsor for the alleged "antiwar rally" is the group Act Now to Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER), a coalition of far-left organizations dating back to the Cold War, which they had hoped the Soviets would win.
The flyer their activists handed out at D.C. Metro stations did not confine their protest to the Iraq war. It presented the following list of demands: "End the Colonial Occupation of Iraq, Palestine and Haiti; Support the Palestinian People's Right of Return; Military Recruiters Out of Our Schools and Communities; U.S. Out of the Philippines; U.S. Out of Puerto Rico; Stop the Threats Against Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea."
ANSWER says "its national steering committee represents major national organizations that have campaigned against U.S. intervention in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Asia." Among steering committee members is the Nicaragua Network, set up in 1979 to "to support the efforts of the Sandinista Revolution.".........

I watched some of the protest on C-Span today. At first I was mad at C-Span,but the more I saw,the more it dawned on me that any viewer with half a brain couldn't have been very impressed with what they saw.
It was a jumbled message that had even the small crowd there looking bored.
Like you,I want more Americans to know what the "so-called" anti-war movement is all about. It sure ain't peace or justice.
I think more Americans are seeing through it. My sister is a lifelong Dem and she is embarrased. Theyre hanging themselves with their own rope. I feel we'll do OK in 06 and 08.
I hope you are right but we can't be casual about it.
While they always claim the "rich" Republicans have much more money than they do that is a lie. They have all the unions behind them and their millions of campaign dollars; the unions also direct their members to do "volunteer" work for the Dems during elections; they have nearly all the teachers and university professors on their side; they have foreign money funneled through George Soros and his buds; they have Hollywood with their money and movie propaganda; of course they have the MSM to do free campaign ads disguised as editorials and news articles for them; and they are unencumbered by truth.
Along that line, their real ace in the hole will be wide spread election fraud. The fact that they are accusing the Republicans of planning to do that is a direct window into their war room.
They are vehemently opposed to voter IDs. What does that tell you? They want illegals to have drivers licenses and drivers licenses to be all that is necessary to register to vote and then to vote. What does that tell you?
The Communists always win and govern with a minority, often a small one. They can't do that legally.
We have a fight on our hands and we hand better pay attention and fight.
