Rita Damage to SW Louisiana worse than being reported

The damage that has hit SW Louisiana and SE Texas is much worse than is being reported by the MSM. While there is very little in the way of a body count, houses and businesses by the hundreds have been destroyed. Entire communities in Cameron Parish have more than likely been erased from the map.
Here is link for some images from SW LA. You'll have to scroll down.

Even the governor of Louisiana is looking at Rita as a distraction from getting over Katrina. When all is said and done, it will be Rita that has left the biggest scar on Louisiana.

Just Damn!
The aftermath of Hurricane Rita is seen over Campron, La., in this aerial photo made in a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter

When I read on FR last night that the CG was rescuing the stranded in SW LA yesterday my first thought was good grief - does no one learn - I mean how isolated are these people?
Rita basically "threaded" her way up the stateline and its relatively unpopulated area but of course there are going to be some communities and people living there - just not millions.

I doubt that.
It will be Nagin, Blanco, Landrieu, and the NO police, with a little gun grabbing and the incessant whining of Geraldo and Shepard Smith tossed in for flavor.

Not enough coverage? Perhaps there wasn't enough blacks involved in the devastation?
To: Let's Roll
Because of costal erosion over the last few decades the beach has literally gone from hundreds of yards away to practically on the front porch. The irony here is that Rita will have reversed years of work to improve the erosion around this area of the coast.

I'm pretty sure if you use any HTML whatsoever, the auto-linking is disabled and you have to do it manually.
<a href="http://www.location.com/page.html">Link caption</a>
and optionally add target="_blank" to make the link pop up in a new window:

The MSM is in and around Houston and Port Arthur and NO so the focus will remain on those places. With Katrina you heard very little about Mississippi and if Barbour hadn't been on news programs you wouldn't have heard as much as you did.

I've always wanted to live right on the beach. A few more hurricanes like these and Memphis will be a beachfront community! So sad.

I don't want to take anything away from Port Arthur. They got hit just as hard as anybody.
I live in Austin and my Dad drove from Beaumont, TX to stay with me. Most of my other SW LA relatives fled to the Shreveport area. Now we can't get any news of damage and the MSM isn't reporting.
I understand that there aren't any huge population centers here, but if they could make it to Beaumont then Lake Charles is only 45 minutes down the road.
This is simply a case of some producers saying "Lake Charles, Cameron Parish? Never heard of them. Next story."
I do give some credit to Fox for having Rick Leventhal there. When I saw him there I was then convinced that it was gonna be bad. He only seems to pop up when the S**t hits the fan.

Shep sounds like those professional mourners used in the Middle East. "We're doomed. No one loves us here (off camera:where's our remote?). We're done for here in Fort Arthur...Port Arthur...hand me another *&^* hat!"
Geraldo in body waders looking for spot work as the Gorton's Fisherman or an extra at the next Decadance Parade.
And surprisingly, Neil Cavuto pushing his guests (esp. his retired buddy from GE) with hysteria over oil refinery destruction. Damn Neil, it's not like you have money invested in oil futures while you report this...hmmmmm??? Quit causing a illusionary panic.
I've actually stopped watching Fox because of Katrina and Rita. It's FReeping and the Weather Channel for me.

Katrine is to Mississippi and Alabama what the Pentagon and plane down in Penn. is to WTC.
To hear Media tell it New Orleans is the only one hit by Katrine. But Mississippi was hit much worse than New Orleans. This a fact but not for the Media.

The name of the town is "Cameron". It is the parish seat for Cameron Parish. The total population of the town is probably less than 5000, but I couldn't find any quick facts on the town.

True. I think the reason why it didn't work for Comstock is because he must have used HTML code somewhere in his post. For instance, if I make this
bold by using HTML, it will no longer convert links to HTML within the post. Example:

Anyone know when the star studded telethon will be on for the victims on Rita? Kidding, but somewhat serious as there are people in SWLA and SE Texas that have lost their homes due to wind and flooding. Is Sean Penn bailing his boat in Port Arthur? Probably not.

"Looks like a town that was literally built on the beach."
Most countries around the world do NOT allow anyone to live near a beach. It is called common sense.
Americans are sadly lacking in common-sense since FDR and his socialist friends took over the nation's "education" and converted it over to re-education propaganda centers - no need to actually LEARN anything.
Maybe this would actually teach a lesson? I doubt that many have the intelect to realize that it was THEIR fault they were 'devastated'.
knee-jerks ... turn on you tears now about - "it aint there fault ' "yada yada yada" as your hero would say.

" It looks to me like it was a bare beach before the hurricane. I don't see any rubble." Thats what I thought too. I used to work at 50 miles form there, and there are lots of beach that doesnt look much different from that. But I noticed that the photo file name had the word medium in it. I tried replacing it with the word large. No luck. Then big, and found this:

You can see 4 rows of beach cabin remains separated by streets.

As someone else said, CAMERON, LA. It looks like a little community between the the beach and a lake about 25 miles southeast of Port Arthur. Best I can guess (using low resolution Google Earth images) is the photo is looking west along State Hwy 27 where Hwy 80 splits off.
