Parents seeking tolerance of gays (Montgomery County, MD)
The Washington Times ^ | 9-26-05 | Jon Ward

Posted on 09/26/2005 11:03:44 AM PDT by JZelle

A Montgomery County parents group yesterday hosted a forum in Bethesda to promote teaching about and acceptance of homosexuality in public-school sex education. "It is critical for [Montgomery County public schools] to continue its tradition of promoting tolerance in a population as diverse as ours," said Christine Grewell, co-founder of Teachthefacts.org (TTF). The group hosted an afternoon forum at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, which was attended by about 100 people. One speaker, David Fishback, said conservatives see the county's sex education debate as "the next Kansas," referring to the debate over evolution versus intelligent design. "We cannot let that happen here," said Mr. Fishback, who helped shape a sex-education curriculum that was scrapped by the county school system last spring. In May, a federal judge ruled in favor a lawsuit against the curriculum that said the course discriminated against religious beliefs and promoted homosexuality.

Typical double speak. The headline says seeking tolerance, when the truth is they seek to promote homosexuality. I will never attack a gay person, but their lifestyle is an abomination to the Lord, so I'm not going to accept promoting it as normal either. Eventually it will be a hate crime to be a Christian...not far off, either.

Yes, tolerance, embrace it you hate mongers, or be destroyed.

You need to be made to see that homosexuality in all it's lovely forms should be celebrated, be it two unknown men having sex in a public restroom, to a gay scout leader inviting an impressionable youngster into his sleeping bag for a special hug.

 it was probably sarcasm)

Parents seeking tolerance of gays

promoting tolerance

Hmmmm

We went from "seeking" to "promoting" in one paragraph. Soon it will be to "embracing" and "institutionalize"

From the article,

One key issue that Mr. Weast will have to decide is whether to include instruction about "ex-gays." TTF denounced the idea of "ex-gays" at the forum, ...

More intolerance from homosexuals.

Ah yes, check out the "vigilance blog" and tune into this wonderfully enlightened group of ...parents? Why do I get the impression their birkenstocks are still sweaty from the Cindy Sheehanista-fest in DC this past weekend?

This is the most honest statement I have seen out of these perverts to date. It's got nothing to do with "tolerance", it's all about acceptance. You tolerate a screaming child in public. You tolerate a headache. You tolerate your in-laws.

These perverts want acceptance.

They will win if we let them. We must stand against them loudly and with evidence. I will never allow my kids to be indoctrinated with a homo agenda. Their ultimate goal is to take our kids from us and destroy them with their sin sick selfish agenda. If christians believe what their Bible says, then we must unite under its authority. A united christian front will completely undo this minority of people.

I've been boycotting Montgomery County (AKA Peoples Republic of MD) ever since the passed their 'no smoking in bars laws). I live very close by and haven't purchased ANYTHING there in more than 4 months. And won't.

It's actually pretty easy since they're one of the highest priced areas around DC due to out of control local business taxes.

In the UCC, a member church is encouraged to become "open and affirming."

They want acceptance and they want their behavior to be considered as normal. In other words, they want everyone to be open to sexual experiences of any type. Of course they want this. People who break laws probably dream of a society where their behavior is not considered breaking the law too.

It comes down to the type of society people want. We have agreed that discrimination in jobs and housing should be considered against the law. We don't however have to make acceptance of everyone we meet mandatory. In other words, we can still associate and offend others in a free society. Catholics do not have to admit Babtists, Jews, or atheists. Makes sense when you think about it. Society also does not have to accept homosexuality, and if a vaccine were to be found that would immunize children against homosexuality then I think society would eliminate homosexuality in one generation. (No, I would not use the endangered species act to save them.)

As far as being kind and fair to homosexuals, I have no problem with it, nor do I support physical acts of violence against them unless they seek to overthrough this government or molest children. If they stay in the closet, so much the better.

In my church, we believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. Open and Affirming be damned. They can be open and affirming burning in hell. As for me and mine, we'll believe God.
