The Dalai Lama ... who abandoned his fellow Tibetans to the tender mercies of the Communist Chinese ...
OMG! There were MORE than 36,000 people!
That was the stadium crowd!
It looked like a mass human migration.
"Tibet's spiritual leader also urged the audience to develop a wider world perspective, not just focus on "America, America, America." "
I got news for ya, a$$hole. America works!
"So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. "
AND, If more of the world would follow us, it would be a better place!
That's "Mr. Lama," to you!
While Mr. Lama tours the world as a celebrity (on whose dime?), "giving peace a chance" has kept Tibet in bondage to China. Why not rip the hypocrite?
And how's that perspective been working for yah, Mr. Lama?
Hello Dalai
get a life Dalai
You ran away to let others do your fighting
Your a moron Dalai
And a coward Dalai
So how about do us a favor and STFU
"Could it be the guy tailors his message to the audience at any given moment? To wit:"
I think it could be argued that defensive action is not the same as making war.
which is why he licks Chi-Com sneakers.
We avoided the area around the stadium so we wouldn't have to deal with traffic. I didn't see the crowds or pay much attention to the whole thing. There are few public figures I would be less interested in seeing than the Dalai Lama. Everything I've ever heard him say sounds completely vacuous and uninteresting.
C'mon, leave him alone! He's a decent man. Who would you have had as our leader for eight years, the Dalai Lama or Slick Willie? (My choice would have been Pope John Paul II). Here, the Dalai Lama is clearly not offering a criticism of our war effort in Iraq, but an ideal notion of a world without war. I think D.L. knows the real nature of war and what it has done to the Tibetans.
Prayed?
As long as someone has something that someone else wants the concept of war will never be outdated.
