OPEN LETTER TO CINDY SHEEHAN:
Residing in the same town as you once resided and knowing your family, I must ask you, "Whatever are you thinking?"
Your son was the one who encouraged my youngest son to enlist. You were very proud of Casey and what he was doing then and he believed very much in what he was doing.
After Casey was killed, my eldest was one of the local airmen who brought him home, facing hostile fire to do so, so you would not not have to wait.
My daughter comforted you and your family. You two spent hours and hours engaged in heartfelt grief. At that time, you were very, very supportive of the President, of our soldiers and of what was occurring in Iraq.
Cindy, you've changed since the Kerry campaign contacted you in early July of last summer. You're not the same grieving mom, especially after you started traveling on the road to support John Kerry's campaign.
You've turned into a political puppet for those who are exploiting you and its not pretty nor does it do anything for Casey's memory. You're not the same, quiet compassionate woman we saw at church or downtown, when you proudly sat as the entire town showed up on Memorial Day to honor Casey and Mike Williams.
How can you justify berating the President for honoring the soldiers who died while protecting America and following the directives of the Congress and the Senate? How can you consistently state that you don't want your son's name to be acknowledged by him and on the same hand, turn around and use the name of Joe Williams' Mike, as an example for your cause despite the many requests of the family for you not to do so? How could you print Mike's name in your anti-war advertisement in the newspaper even after seeing the grief and effort his mother went through to go to Crawford to personally remove it from your cross. You knew it caused them pain.
Mike died honorably and his father, a Vietnam vet is very proud of him. He believed in what he was doing, just like Casey. How could you bring so much pain to the Williams family and so much pain to a nation because of your own anger?
Cindy, how can you do this to your kids who don't know how to explain your actions to anyone here in town? They went through a lot last summer and still are.
The hours, days and weeks following Casey's death were emotionally gut wrenching as many of us with children, husbands, wives, friends and other loved ones in the military comforted you while living with the fears for our own loved ones over there. Everyone went above and beyond because we all believed and still believe in how very right, honorable and courageous our loved ones are in their mission to keep America safe.
We all went through considerable anguish when Casey died and I suspect none moreso than you. But how can you justify your anguish and place it on a higher level than that of Joe Williams?
The treatment you've returned to everyone is inexcusable. Placing Mike Williams' name on a cross despite the family's objections was unforgiveable and the reaction of Mike's mother when she saw it was heartbreaking.
What you are doing to neighbors, to friends, Casey's battle buddies and to a nation of people who are having to relieve the ugly pain of the late 60s and the 70s is unfair.
This is about you, Cindy. Not about anyone else. When you turn your back on your neighbors, your friends, your family and act in this manner, it only evidences that there is no consideration toward anyone or anything else.
Finally, and most disturbing, how can you support a group that supported John Kerry, who on April 7th, on National Public Radio stated that Al Sadr had a "legitimate voice" and that the Coalition (including your son) should not have closed down his newspaper after he called for the deaths of U.S. troops.
You know better than anyone else, Casey was killed in Sadr City by the Al Sadr militants. How can you join ranks with those who support the terrorist who called for the death of your son?
Its beyond me, Cindy, and something I suspect, someday in the future, you'll look back on and with considerable pain.
We don't want that for you. I believe you need to sit down and think about it long and hard. You are bringing so much pain to this nation and its people.
'Who writes this garbage for Crazy Cindy?'
you are right, there is NO WAY she could manage to put something like that 'letter' together, she's too busy getting her hair highlighted and trying on wonder bras to pay any attention to the actual 'wording' of this tripe she spews...
Simply titled ~~
The worst part of all of this is how its savored by the rebels...
Yes, I got home last night. I'm about 30 miles from the Texas coast and it was mandatory evacuation. Talk about horror stories but at least we have a home to come to!
Imagine what she will do when the wind starts blowing cold and she doesn't have her little cadre with her sitting outside public places...
she has no home to go to.
she has no husband waiting for her.
she has no job to return to.
she has no friends left in the community.
she has 'new' friends that will drop her like yesterday's dog poop when they get distracted by the next glimmer...
her kids are invisible, they can't be too pleased.
her mom could be DEAD for all we have heard about her lately...
This is an excellent letter. Thanks so much for writing it.
EXACTLY! That is a political diatribe. Casey is one small part of it, period. This woman is being used.
Wow! Just wow!
Theyre hammin it up for sure
And I agree, PLEASE get this out to the press.
Republic, you said... This woman is being used.
She is ALLOWING herself to be used. She's a grown woman, able to make her own choices.
I did not know that. He's lower than slime, and so is she for what she is doing to her family, and I would say friends, but it looks like she won't have any when this is all over.
I had heard that once before but I don't exactly remember where. It was in FR though.
Ping, with an apology if you've been pinged more than once already.
it occurs to me that Mother Sheehan is displaying behavior paradigms which, if displayed by someone who was NOT a darling of the DNC-MSM Cabal, would be classified as indicative of advanced Munchausen Syndrome.
"Look at me, the brave victim" - in ALL she does.
I am beginning to believe that her mind may truly have fled.
the corollary, if my suspicion is correct, is that the DNC-MSM Cabal are making use of a mentally unbalanced person, someone who needs serious help, to further their political gambits.
I mean, in the post above...she goes from casey, to our President being unwilling to speak to her, to the constitution, to our actions in other nations, to karl rove being a bad guy and cheney being a bad guy, to condi being a liar and on and on and on...it is a diatribe of immense proportions. And there is no way on earth she wrote that-unless she is playing a being dumb when she is on airwaves.
So I believe she is being used. And I should have added that I believe she is probably aware of that, too. ( And yeah-She is a grownup, but then so is billy klinton, hillary, etc. None of them act like it, however.)
Perzactly! You have hit the nail on the head. Munchausen Syndrome.
good thoughts on a nasty subject.
Very well done Mom.
Good letter, Linda. I hope she reads it.
I'm *really* beginning to think Sheehan might be clinically insane.
One big bump from me. :-)
it begins to look that way, to my lay and skeptical eye.
I hold no great love for or belief in psychology... I wonder whether there are neurobiological indicators for Munchausen's
And I agree with your prior comment...where you stated it appears her mind has fled. Hopefully she can find it one day.
God bless you and your family.
Oh, she IS being used...I'm sorry if I didn't word that properly. She's (well...) gotten that whole "letter" of hers right from the DNC.
All I mean is, if she'd only taken the love of her husband, children, extended family and friends such as Linda...instead of allowing herself the fame and glory Kerry, Moore, etal offered her...none of this would have to happen.
She sounds dangerously insane. Yikes!
We're all watching this woman completely destroy herself.
My anger is not as much to Cindy as it is to those who took advantage of her in her condition. Im not going to feel any better if this woman commits suicide.
How in the world can she call Iraq a sovereign nation?
And I have enough cruelty in me, I am sorry to say, to hope that one day she has the opportunity to regret what she has wrought. Then she can heal.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for writing this a sharing it with us. I can only imagine the pain she has caused you, her family, the neighborhood, and America lovers everywhere.
You knew her as a different person. I have only known her as a hateful one and never have had the chance to see any goodness in the woman. Lately her on-camera antics have disgusted me, a stranger, so it is safe to assume she has all new friends now...
I've noticed that DNC footpads and cats-paws have a tendency to spew rote talking-points (often in a very predictable sequence) since the late 1990's.
Basket-cases make good parrots, perhaps?
A thought has just come to me & I'd like to share it:
Now that "Mother Sheehan" is in the Cooler (but most likely soon to be out so this might not happen)...
Why doesn't someone try to get pictures of her while incarcerated like what was done with Saddam Hussein???
I think you might be right, because about the same time that was posted, Conyers was saying she was being held in a bus for several hours. These people will lie about anything.
I don't think that's cruel, Republic. She's GOT to hit rock bottom before she can look up.
No apology necessary!
see 115 and 117
She almost reminds me of the Kathy Bates character in the movie "Misery." A crazy, obsessed monster who talks herself into and justifies taking the most horrible actions.
Thank God for the Secret Service to protect administration folks from this nut in the event she takes it to the next level and attempts something really insane.
This is a great letter, but I don't believe it will have an impact on Cindy Sheehan. She is a poster child for narcissistic personality disorder, exhibiting all the textbook characteristics.
And, from an old retired soldier, thank you for the service of your sons.
We're on the same page.
Actually, the Noble Cause is a world in which a madman, mass-murdering dictator can no longer rape, murder and lead to death literally millions of innocent men, women and children, while simultaneously defying the entire rest of the world (including the impotent UN) and researching and developing weapons of mass destruction (including both nuclear and biological weapons) for the unprovoked "humbling" of our country (read: destruction of potentially millions of OUR innocent citizens) -- without being called to account and removed from power.
The Noble Cause is a world in which the Middle East possesses a model democracy, one that demonstrates that democracy can work in an Arab Muslim state, and one that is not an enemy to us and our children, instead of being a fertile breeding ground for those who would come and destroy our cities, and turn many, many places in our own dear country into Manhattan on 9/11.
THAT's the noble cause, and Cindy does everything in her power to obstruct it.
Which makes her, in fact, a damnable traitor not only to our nation, not only to everything that is good, but also to everything that her son and his fellows have fought and died for.
Thank you so very much for writing this, and for posting it here. I can only hope you are able to share this with those who are currently supporting Ms. Sheehan and holding her so high, high over those who have sacrificed everything for all of us here at home.
I hope your friend reads this, and listens. You may be all she has left.
God Bless you, your family and your two soldiers.
