Republicans Ready for a Fight

Republicans Ready for a Fight It has no been almost one year since the Republican Party received a huge mandate in the 2004 elections. The results: NOTHING. Not entirely nothing as some issues have progressed, but in moral and social issues we have gotten nowhere. By now you are probably either asking your self why or answering that question in you head. For those of you that might be a little bit behind, or are just preoccupied, here is the answer: Republicans in Congress and the White House are playing political games. With the exception of nominating Judge Roberts, President Bush is not pushing the issues we want to fight for: social security, school vouchers, Medicare and Medicaid cuts, less business restriction and tax reform. And neither are the Republicans in Congress, they are carefully stepping through the mine field not wanting to start a war. Well it’s time for that to end. We have been sitting hear for almost a year waiting and waiting. Our guns poised to fire and ready to fire, but no command has come down. No leader has taken charge and President Bush seems to be overly busy with other work. The Republican Party has fight in it, it just needs to be put to use, someone needs to light the fuse, and we need to stop wasting the precious months and years. Let’s Roll.

I called Shay's office today and said some very unkind things about him for which I have no shame whatsoever. John Gibson acted really more clueless than the uninformed Ct. Congressman when they were having their love-fest today. I told Shay's office that he had no right insinuating that Brown was incompetent when he has not shown one iota of competence in the last 10 years as a Congressman, and I bet he makes about the same money that Brown does and has none of the responsibility.

LOL! Good for you! I called and told them that I was amazed and troubled that Chris Shays was getting a government salary, and also asked them why he had SO MANY offices, since he doesn't DO anything except ask clueless questions! And I told them that the RNC was going to hear from me about cutting his campaign donations from the national committee to ZERO!

President Bush's attitude towards terrorists is that they attacked us because we have been week in the past in responding to their attacks.

And at the same time, he is weak when his enemies (MSM, Democrats, Furrners) attack him so they keep attacking with greater veracity.

He needs to put his foot on the throat of David Gregory, Terry Moran, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi the next time they attack him.

Sounds a bit hysterical there son. I'll call the President from the Sauna/Massage Room where he has been relaxing for a few months. Maybe he can calm you down or a shot of horse tranquilizer.

And, just what 'veracity' would that be? Are you joking?

Now, I just returned from killing lots of wild animals in Alaska and eating them. Every bite was a win against some effed-up liberal. I loved every minute of it.

Looking askance... What??
I took myself on a one day fly-fishing trip at a lake in Michigan a few weeks ago. It was good for me, I liked it. The value of it was it itself.
There were other people out there some might have been liberals, some of the guides (whom I went without) might have been liberals. No one was thinking about any political victory where we were, and that was a good thing.

You have to recognize victory when it happens and not be obsessed with things which are perhaps not even possible.

Politics is the art of the possible not a Wish List one side gets to enact without opposition. We have a bare plurality of the electorate vs. 48% willing to vote for an absolute Traitor + the Treason Media + the Leftist Control of almost all social institutions (churches, foundations, education). That is a crucial fact which needs to be recognized.

Some will always be in that almost always quixotic market for the guy or gal who will mesmerize the public into changing their views, despite the track record of a preference for cautious change by voters absent great stress. There is always a hunger for those who dream the impossible dream for the magic, silver bullet. At least it pumps money into the public square of debate. That is not all bad. It at least keeps the debate alive, and up close and personal.

If I can get some additional pleasure eating a salmon dead only a few minutes because I know some liberal somewhere is against it, whats it to you? I think about political victories in everything I do(almost). I get a thrill every time I fill up my Hummer, and some jerk in a Hybrid gets upset about it.

Call me crazy, but I live to piss off liberals.

The weak kneed freepers are the ones that settle for big government and say it tastes delicious. Not the other way around.

You express my sentiments exactly. We have to listen to Bush bashing every minute on TV and I can not fathom why anyone on FR would want to help the networks or the crazies at DU. They think they have President Bush on the ropes and they are going for the kill.

Sounds to me like some people need a good dose of Rush Limbaugh optimisim.

Well, since we only have a chance of achieving any of our goals if we get our side elected, and since a large chunk of the population doesn't want to pare down government, the trick is to go slowly.

Yes, the ultimate goal is a smaller government, but in the meanwhile we have to maintain a viable foreign policy, prosecute a war, and make sure that the government doesn't do anything to mess up the economy.

Most Americans LIKE Social Security. Most think that the government should be doing lots of things that we don't think it should.

It is going to take a generation of incremental wins before we will get the voters to change their minds on some of this stuff. We have been pretty successful on tax policy; I don't think the democrats will be able to convince people that raising taxes will solve problems.

But on a variety of conservative goals, we have to keep moving in small steps, all the while educating people. And if we blow it, and we lose our majorities and the presidency, then we will be back at square one.

Do I have days when I wish I could wave a magic wand and get rid of all the bloated government? Sure! But then reality tells me that we are going to have to shrink it slowly, and that there will be times when we have to compromise because of other, more immediate goals. Patience and persistence is what is required.
