Mayor Announces More Layoffs, Cuts To City Services

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick met with City Council on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of more worker layoffs and cuts to city services to eliminate a budget shortfall, Local 4 reported.
City Council said they subpoenaed Kilpatrick to come to Tuesday's budget meeting, but Kilpatrick said he never received the subpoena and planned on coming anyway.

His mom's one of the two congresscritters from Detroit. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D).
His dad was the spokesman for former Wayne County exec Ed McNamara (D), the Boss Daley of Michigan.
