Are they sure its a bomb? Somebody keep this thread updated with the latest.
On a Sat night?
Will wait for details, haven't seen it anywhere yet.
What's the lure? Why would this OK university be a target. Prayers up just in case. Hope it's not too bad.
I wonder if alcohol is involved.
Remember all the deaths of scientists? I wonder who died...
1) Meth lab.
2) John Doe #2.
3) Bob Stoops finally found an offense.
No terrorist...they would have done it in day time. More casualties in day time. Either a local whacko or some one's BBQ went off...
Lab? Gas burners?
football program imploding
Suicide bomber explodes prematurely? Were the football game attendees the target? Game has 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
My wife just called from the stadium. She supervises one of the University sky boxes and said there was a tremendous blast and they wont let anyone have access to thier cars parked in the area of the bomb. It was apparently a suicide bomber who prematurely triggered the bomb. It was just before halftime with 80,000 people in the stands. My guess is an OU student frome a Muslim country. I am so angry I am shaking.
One person dead outside the building?
It's early to speculate, but the first thing that comes to mind is that someone accidentally blew himself up.
Microbiology? Hmmm. And a big game? Hmmm.
Interested in further updates as well.
Maybe a "terrorist" who hadn't quite made it through Bomb-Making 101 without fallig asleep.
Oh good Lord! My prayers for your wife and all there.
Some yahoo in a celebratin' mood musta flicked his bic to a stick of dynamite. Casualty list: one yahoo.
Ha. Sounds like a tailgate BBQ grill to me.
Please keep us posted. Prayers your way.
I'm a slow typer....would have caught the post above with the police report. Could very well be someone(the victim) could have been on his way into the lab to set off a boomer. Looks like it went off early??
an explosive device is NOT necessarily a bomb. a cap gun is an explosive deveice to the knee-jerk liberals.
This was most likely a college prank or homemade fireworks display gone wrong after someon didn't wuite finish reading the instructions on how to build the fuze correctly.
If true, it's time for MASS DEPORTATIONS
Suicide bomber. Coordinated with Bali blasts?
Has Al-Qaeda spoken up yet? I suspect Detroit will soon secede and declare itself a Caliphate.
Oh my. Thank God (the REAL one) that the timing was off.
If that is true, and it's Muslim, I wouldn't want to be a Muslim student in Norman. Of course, it's all still speculation.
Prayers for your wife and all in the area.
sounds like it

Explosion kills one during OU game

One person was killed Saturday night in an explosion during the second quarter of the OU/Kansas State game.
OU police Sgt. Gary Robinson said: "We heard a loud explosion outside the stadium, a device was exploded. We have one fatality and we have the area sectioned off. We are checking to see if there are any devices."
The explosion occurred in the courtyard east of G.L. Cross Hall, Robinson said.
He said after the area was cleared of any other possible devices the police would check on other injuries.
"We're letting the hazardous device units do what they do," Robinson said.
Robinson said after the game fans would be let out on the east side of the stadium towards Jenkins Avenue. During half time fans were not allowed to leave the stadium on the west side.
Hard to tell at this point. I know when I was in college I was a lab assistant and went in to work on a Saturday. Someone had left a gas line to the bunsen burner on (without the burner hooked up) and I went into a lab that was a "bomb" in the making. I had the sense to evacuate and call for help. They turned off the gas from the outside and eventually opened up the building.
"Has Al-Qaeda spoken up yet? I suspect Detroit will soon secede and declare itself a Caliphate."
Good enough, just remember no nukes, I live too close for comfort.
Ping to #18!
Like fermenting their own underneath the dorm beds? :-)
