What's the lure? Why would this OK university be a target. Prayers up just in case. Hope it's not too bad.

Suicide bomber explodes prematurely? Were the football game attendees the target? Game has 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

My wife just called from the stadium. She supervises one of the University sky boxes and said there was a tremendous blast and they wont let anyone have access to thier cars parked in the area of the bomb. It was apparently a suicide bomber who prematurely triggered the bomb. It was just before halftime with 80,000 people in the stands. My guess is an OU student frome a Muslim country. I am so angry I am shaking.

One person dead outside the building?
It's early to speculate, but the first thing that comes to mind is that someone accidentally blew himself up.

Officers were not allowing anyone to exit the stadium, but Robinson said the spectators were safe.
not knowing the circumstances of the blast, is it smart to keep all these people in the stadium ?
Is it even legal to do so ?

Oh good Lord! My prayers for your wife and all there.

Law enforcement officers cordoned off an area west of a packed Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, where the Oklahoma Sooners were playing Kansas State. Spectators reported hearing a loud boom just before the end of the first half, but no smoke or fire was seen. Some yahoo in a celebratin' mood musta flicked his bic to a stick of dynamite. Casualty list: one yahoo.

an explosive device is NOT necessarily a bomb. a cap gun is an explosive deveice to the knee-jerk liberals.
This was most likely a college prank or homemade fireworks display gone wrong after someon didn't wuite finish reading the instructions on how to build the fuze correctly.

Explosion kills one during OU game
by Rhett Brackeen and Ryan McGhee
October 01, 2005
One person was killed Saturday night in an explosion during the second quarter of the OU/Kansas State game.
OU police Sgt. Gary Robinson said: "We heard a loud explosion outside the stadium, a device was exploded. We have one fatality and we have the area sectioned off. We are checking to see if there are any devices."
The explosion occurred in the courtyard east of G.L. Cross Hall, Robinson said.
He said after the area was cleared of any other possible devices the police would check on other injuries.
"We're letting the hazardous device units do what they do," Robinson said.
Robinson said after the game fans would be let out on the east side of the stadium towards Jenkins Avenue. During half time fans were not allowed to leave the stadium on the west side.

Hard to tell at this point. I know when I was in college I was a lab assistant and went in to work on a Saturday. Someone had left a gas line to the bunsen burner on (without the burner hooked up) and I went into a lab that was a "bomb" in the making. I had the sense to evacuate and call for help. They turned off the gas from the outside and eventually opened up the building.
