Been carrying in my church every Sunday since 9/11/01
I carry a concealed firearm everywhere I go. Church included.
You're making justifications for people who desecrate churches of ANY denomination ????????
What would you say about a Catholic who advocated vandalizing Baptist churches? "OH, WAIT ... that's different!"???
Open your eyes, fool.
# Life is full of regrets; live in such a way to reduce the number of regrets you will have in the end.
Jus a couple of words to the wise.
Every Sunday, usually a couple of other times in the week, and when I can, though it's been a while, daily.
I go there because of Jesus. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth my time.
Don't tell.
"Concealed" means nobody knows you have it.
;'}
bruck does
I can't believe this happened in America. We'll have to get Forth Degree KC's to serve as ushers and toss out idiots at the first sign of trouble.
As a conservative I respect another's freedom to worship as he chooses -- I won't take that away, but I also have the freedom to believe that same worship is idolatrous and also the freedom (and mandate by Christ), to convince him of that.
If baptists had idols then I suppose catholics and baptists would be worshipping together in harmony. They could double-up on their services and save money.
Gideon's father enjoyed the religion of his day, but it was idolatrous, and the Lord command gideon to tear that alter and use it for kindling for the sacrifice to the Lord.
Gideon descrated the "church" of his father. How horrible!
Another has called me a troll and I didn't respond to that attack.
I have touched a nerve, but have not done so rudely.
Show me otherwise and I'll apologize for my ill behavior.
I received a tract in the mail with all kinds of horrid accusations against Catholics by a Baptist denomination. I took it to my Catholic friends and they explained each point to me.
Many years later when I felt that God was calling me to the Catholic Church I already had that information.
So just thinking about it now, God used people like you to pull me towards the Catholic Church. God works in mysterious ways.
I guess I shouldn't be annoyed by your attitude because I know from experience that God can make good from bad.
I prefer the command of Jesus to love one another than to violence against those whose beliefs differ from mine.
You were driven to the idolatry of catholicism because of the perceived anger of baptists and their hatred for that idolatry.
Will you also be considering adultery, because God hates adultery and is angry with sinners that commit it?
Or would adultery be justified if the mother church could somehow explain it away?
Ping to #25
Have you read of Gideon? God commanded him to tear down his father's alter and use it for firewood for a sacrifice to Him, the one true God.
Jesus entered the temple and kicked over tables and drove out the animals with a whip.
God as always rightly used fear to encourage sinners to repent and turn to righteous. He has often destroyed those in the camp or church that offend righteous, so that the wiser ones might realize their own nearness to danger.
God is certainly not a terrorist in that sense that he kills innocents to effect policy changes. That is work of thugs.
LOL, No, I studied the Bible and I studied Catholicism and I have yet to worship a statue. You have to understand that you don't understand Catholicism nor do you want to, that is your prerogitive, but ignorance doesn't make a good argument or allow you to make a good analogy. Our conversation is ended, I will pray for you. Go with God.
Oh, yes ... let's all destroy each others' places of worship (or "worship" in your case) ... God commands it. Lovely.
Supporting terrorism, as you have done on this thread, is definitely "ill behavior".
May God bless you with the Grace of repentance and conversion.
You'll never convince me of that because I don't worship idols nor was I ever taught to worship Mary or the saints. You don't need to sway me in any way, so I'll save you the trouble.
By the way, do you consider picture Bibles idolatrous? Do you understand that images of saints in a stained glass window, for example, serve the same purpose - to visualize a holy person? The same goes for statues of Mary, but if you insist on believing otherwise, that truly is your right - and you have a right to live in ignorance.
