"The Christ did not always turn the other cheek
Yeah, remember what he did when the Pharisees turned the temple into a marketplace.

Can you imagine what he would do to those that turn a church into a house of idols."

Yes, I can imagine - so why hasn't He done so to the Catholic churches throughout the world, many of which have been standing for hundreds of years? Could it be He doesn't share your ugly view of Catholicism? I am sure He does not.

Catholic churches in America are full of statues. American catholics may not larger worship statues outright, but much emphasis is placed on these statues. If I remember correctly don't catholics usually have some relic (saint's body part built into the altar of the church. You may not outright be bowing down to these things, but an unhealthy, unbiblical emphasis is placed on them.

However, I have personally seen (and watched documentaries of) many catholics around the world worshipping idols -- and this was done at the encouragement of the church.

So to say that catholics don't worship idols is a lie. I can only assume it was based on ignorance.

Did you attend Catholic schools throughout your life? I doubt it. You show zero understanding of the Catholic faith throughout your posts, and I would challenge you to name these documentaries you supposedly saw (and I'd also like to know who produced them - Tony Alamo, by any chance?). Bottom line, you see what you want to see, Bear Slayer.

The Church does not teach idol worship, period. Take it from someone who had 16 years of Catholic schooling. Remember too the Commandment about bearing false witness against one's neighbor, because that is surely what you are doing about our faith.

Jihadis coming out among Christians now? This is sick. Please keep us updated. I want to know what pile of garbage these slugs crawled out of.

True 'fruit cakes' whose brains are probably mostly fired from all the drugs they take or have taken.

My father was raised in the mother church. My grandmother (mother's side) converted to catholicism. I have studied catholicism extensively.

You show zero understanding of the Catholic faith

yeah, right! :-)

I would challenge you to name these documentaries

Why? Your Ad Hominem attacks when then be directed against the documentaries.

Tony Alamo, by any chance?).

Never heard of him. Even so, does the messenger matter if the message is true? Bottom line, you see what you want to see, Bear Slayer.

There are none so blind as those who will not see. The Church does not teach idol worship, period.

It definately permits, encourages and defends it. Remember too the Commandment about bearing false witness against one's neighbor, because that is surely what you are doing about our faith.

One day when you are standing before the Lord and he asks you why you attended and defended an idolatrous church, you can think of our conversation.

God bless.

No, I pray God blesses and enlightens you.

Studying Catholicism, especially from the dubious sources you apparently have drawn from, is not the same as being instructed in it daily for sixteen years. I also had two very devout Catholic parents who are saints in my book.

Please also show me where I attacked you personally or called you a name. I did not do so (that's what ad hominem means). You claimed to have seen documenataries that show Church leaders promoting idol worship, and I simply asked you to identify these documentaries by name so that they can be verified and evaluated. If they exist, you should be able to do so. Since you cannot or have not named these films, I call your assertion into question.

And yes, assuming they do exist, it does matter who produces them. Tony Alamo is notoriously anti-Catholic and has made many false claims about the Catholic faith; anything he produces on the subject should be taken with a very large grain of salt.

I will worry about my own soul when I go before God, but I have absolutely no worries when it comes to what my Catholic teachers taught me.

I pray God opens your eyes and heart, Bear Slayer.

What do you call worship? Actually bowing down and pretending that some idol of stone or wood is god and has power? Certainly that is idolatry.

How about parades of catholics following after statues of Mary with baby Jesus in her arms, both heaped with flowers and candles. The masses singing, crying, and carrying on like pagans . . . or muslims. If this is not idolatry, I would at the least bet my salvation that God is not pleased with it. Yet, this is what happens in 3rd world countries that are dominated by catholicsm. It even happens to some degree right here in the US.

I have never heard an outcry from the pope or priests against this. In fact, when the matter is brought up, there is always someone, like yourself, to step up and defend it.

Have you ever been to the Phillipnes? I have. The catholics there nail themselves to crosses and flagellate themselves near Easter. This is lauded amongst catholics as superior devotion and the magisterium never says a word against it.

Hordes of catholic devotees, in Mexico and other places, crawl across pavement and up steps to win the favor of Mary and Jesus.

I could provide you links to stacks of books and videos describing the excess, hypocrisy, and idolatry of the mother church, but you'll always have some answer-- that doesn't quite fit, but assuages your own conscience, --to explain away these things.

Again I say to you, when you stand before God, remember our conversations. Let that also haunt you as you spend eternity in hell, gnawing on your tongue, tearing at your burning flesh and contemplating your defence of the whore of babylon.
