SHORELINE - Ken Potts calls himself a patriot. That's what his front yard tells you too.
Metal American flags are staked in the ivy beside the driveway. A red, white, and blue pinwheel spins near the front sidewalk. One flagpole flies the American flag. A second flagpole carries the banner of the Army's 101st Airborne.
Even his mailbox on North 185th Street in Shoreline sports the image of the Airborne's screaming eagle.
But he says that in the last year the mailbox has been blown up twice with fireworks. The house has been egged. Paint has been thrown on the house too. The flags have been torn down and ripped up more than once.
And the 101st Airborne flag has had the word "murder" and a swastika written on it with a permanent marker.
"It's really difficult for me to see something like this and not feel sad," Potts told us of the vandalism that started around election day last year. Especially, he says, since the 101st led the charge in World War II to defeat Nazi Germany.
But the biggest insult to this house with a permanent Bush-Cheney placard attached to the second story and a collection of mostly Republican election signs in the side yard, is the spray paint someone left on his vinyl siding this past weekend.

He installed a security camera that keeps watch over his front yard. And for his own political jab he put an electronic readerboard in a front window. 24 hours a day it says:

This is nothing new. It was the most under reported news story of the 2004 election. Brownshirts for Kerry were vandalizing homes, businesses, and property to intimidate Bush supporters. There were even episodes of violence.
The Civil War that is brewing has already gotten to the violent stage. I'm just glad there wasn't a revolt because of the election.
Hate Crimes laws protect religious beliefs and sexual beliefs (there is no "wear the clothes of the opposite sex" gene), but offer no protection for political beliefs.
Political correctness sucks.

I dont think he painted it on his house, I think he is a victim of Democrat Vandals, and the peace loving hippies painted it on his house.
Misread it. I skimmed it and thought he had written it himself like some lefty in California did. I will endeavor to have more coffee before start up. My apologies to Mr. potts and all.
The original addition to the headline -- "Veteran has 'Bush Nazis' painted on house!" -- was easily misread, so I took the liberty of changing it.
If they had a sheriff there who knew his Constitutional duties this would be stopped.

That house is just a few blocks from where I live. I was blown away when I saw that grafitti job.
It's not Haney's job to determine intent. Thats for the prosecutor. Just arrest the bastards and if the prosecutor drops the ball, hold his/her feet to the fire. Let me guess, the prosecutor is a Rat?
I made a remark about "liberal Democrats" at the dinner table the other night and my "liberal" cousin just went beserk. She was yelling, screaming, pounding the table and then left the room and slammed the door.
Why are "liberals" so un-liberal? Why are they such intolerant fascists? Not very Christian of them.
None of my "liberal" relatives will discuss "politics" with me. What this means is that they just don't want to hear another point of view.

It is the same in my family...my Aunt and her brothers were the type that drove vw vans around Europe during Vietnam. They only discuss politics when it is all libs in the room. When my Uncle or I am around, all conversation seems to cease. I guess I have a nasty habit of listening to their point of view and then asking them to back their statements up with facts and figures. I always let them know that we can go upstairs and search on the internet if they like. I actually look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas now more than ever...albeit for maybe some of the wrong reasons...lol
One of my liberal friends told me that there are no facts or that they didn't matter only feelings mattered, then she slammed the phone down. Hung up on me.
I was talking with another "friend" (old girlfriend) the other night when she went off on a tangent about Bush and how America had killed more people than anyone else.
I ask her if she had read "The Black Book Of Communism" and recited the list of how many people had been killed by various dictators, Nazis, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, etc. She was surprised.
I told her she's got to read more and offered her some URL's. I don't think any of these people would read the Freep or FrontPage Magzine.

One of my relatives is a university professor who doesn't want to discuss "politics". Very tolerant, don't you think? I could go on and on about how the intellectuals want to fool themselves and and not face reality.
I'm just about at the point where I actively despise all so called "do-gooders".

He also says he's turned the other cheek and doesn't want prosecution or revenge. He says he'd like to meet the vandal or vandals and have a friendly American debate instead.
These people don't debate because they CAN'T. A debate requires a certain amount of intelligence and an ability to reason. It can't be done with the kind of people responsible for this vandalism. If you ask them WHY they are so hateful, you won't get anything that makes a lick of sense in reply.
