He doesn't really take a vacation. He just goes home and still works. All the moaning and bitching from the left about President Bush taking a long vacation don't even mention that CONGRESS DID TOO and they weren't working.

LOL! When I was a petulant teenager, my father and I would have "nonconstructive disagreements" over the thermostat. Being a minor and a dependent, I really knew who should win. But I was bad.

One day I got tired of walking around in a quilt (the house was 60 degrees. Dad is part polar bear). I moved the dial up to 85 and forgot about it.

About an hour later I heard him yell "Eighty five degrees!"

LOL! I caught a lot of trouble and deserved it, but it was worth it.

When Republicans control 55 Senate seats, and 16 Democrat senators are from Red states, there’s no good reason to go with a “stealth” nominee. This was the right time to reward brilliant, outspoken, conservative jurists, and the president missed the opportunity.

That says it all.

Since Bork’s Borking in 1987, there have been five Republican “stealth” nominees to the Court. Their record is mixed: Anthony Kennedy turned out to be a moderate conservative, David Souter is a reliable liberal

This whole "stealth candidate" business is dangerous, dishonest, and does a service to no one. It needs to end. When Republicans are having to limit their choices to the the most mysterious instead of the most outstanding, the Democrats have already won. At that point, Republicans might as well not bother even showing up. Think about it. Republicans are BORKING THEMSELVES. Rather than sending the Robert Bork nominee up, they just skip right to the Anthony Kennedy nominee. It's better to try and not succeed than to never try at all. Republicans should not duck from a fight on Constitutional theory. It is a new day and a new Senate... and we have a New Media.

It wears off. Now my Dad is susceptible to the cold and I wouldn't think of turning the furnace down.

The hot flashes were the least of my problems. I nailed so many people that were bullies that I almost received applause after the shock wore off.

I walked into the grocery store this morning and saw a tabloid magazine saying that the Bush's marriage is in trouble and that George is drinking heavily! Has everyone lost it? The radio shows this week have not been stellar except for 1 show - Liddy and Hill and they are the only ones that didn't throw the nominee overboard right away and have actually brought out FACTS of Harriet Miers background. I was disappointed in Laura Ingraham, turned off by the snobbery of Anne Coulter, surprised at Shaun Hannity, and didn't hear Rush because I like him too much to be disappointed at anything he might have said.

I will go check his posting history again and give it some thought. There were too many that day trying to reason with him and coddling him, IMO. Not rodguy or johnnie. IIRC, rodguy was on vacation that day and only appeared briefly.

I don't think you need to put money in there. Any thing connected to congress is by definition cussing and we'd all be in the poor house! LOL!

I wish he'd just go spend a couple of weeks up in Kenneybunkport with his parents, fishing and just hanging out and be DA**ed what the press says!.....and here's my 25 cents!

Tabloids make stuff up to sell their rags.

It's not an easy month for the President but I have every belief that this story is wishful thinking on their part.

I will own that I was rooting for another candidate and then the question was raised to me as to how much I'd read of the candidate I wanted? I am fairly well read in general, but I failed my own test.

People tend to like to do things as they have always done them. This President has excelled where none have due to his gift of doing a task in a completely different way.

You are right that it would be great if more people could be open to discussion instead of tossing her overboard.

Oh no, I was not clear. I know exactly who the poster was and he/she/it was a newbie and very disruptive on a number of threads, typically about the President, the troops or the WOT. Always negative and stirring the pot.

My comment about rodguy and johnnie was that they were not present that day. Sorry for the confusing post.
