Do you remember what Mr. Thomas had to endure? Who in their right minds would put themselves through that today?
Secondly, she and other nominees, who have stood up to the Left and made tough decisions are hardened and can endure the difficulty of such hearings. Only one requested to be removed from consideration, Priscilla Owens.
He hasn't even come close.
The fact that he replied to a reporter's question honestly, and didn't go out of his way to preemptively sabotage a nominee doesn't demonstrate anything, other than his sense of propriety.
No one said he endorsed her. But his remarks about selecting people from different backgrounds was congruent with Miers' nomination.
I admire the fact that he answered a reporter's query honestly-without interpolating himself into the process-but that doesn't mean he's keen on seeing Harriet Miers serve as his colleague.
Was Janet Rogers Brown fully vetted? Do you know one way or the other? Do you think she is tough as nails and can stand up to the scrutiny she would get? Do you think 50+ Republicans would vote for her?
You only think you know one thing about her, she is against abortion. So, aren't you worried she might vote the "wrong way" on some of your other important issues? You don't know that she will or she won't -- same for Harriet Miers.
One more thing, do you really think Thomas harrassed that woman? She's a diehard femminazi and probably lied...remember the RATs would do almost anything to keep a conservative off the bench.
What kind of story do you think they would invent about an extremely conservative nominee these days?
Pro-Life issues aren't the only issues important to me and apparently are not the only issues important to Janice Rogers Brown.
Ms. Brown has made a number of controversial decisions in the conservative direction on the bench and has been battle hardened like several other prospective nominees. She knows exactly what she's in for and would stand up well. BTW, she has quite a Judicial paper trail, and not just on pro-life issues and Miss Miers does NOT.
You falsely assume only Republican Senators would vote to confirm her. She would also receive votes from some Democratic Senators who are not immune from the fear of charges of racism and sexism.
Don't bother whining here about others calling names when you have no problem doing it. And I am tired of you calling me a stalker and spreading that lie all over the internet.
You are a liar and your disgusting diatribes on anti-freeper sites is appalling.
You have not answered my requests to retract your lies and false accusations about me here and on your anti-FR sites
Folks, I have a stalker. Carry on. : )
Scalia has access to the same information that we have and finds someone like her someone he can live with.
Yes, you are correct. I do think she will be confirmed BECAUSE some Democratic Senators will vote for her. I said not enough Republican Senators would vote for an extreme-right conservative to break any filibuster the Dems try.
