Explain why Scalia and Thomas made it through a Democratic controlled Senate and we're afraid of our own guys? I think that excuse has been drafted more to discredit the Senate 7 rather than the actual fear of their actions. But that's an awfully large risk nominating someone without a true historical background and legal writings just to discredit 7 guys and gals.

Come on Tony, the history of this Republican Senate is that they don't have the stomach for a fight and until and unless I see them fight somebody other than a 60 year old Christian lady from Texas, I'm n not changing that opinion.
They have all sorts of targets. They can take on Earle, they can take on the MSM, they can take on the SCOTUS, they can take on illegal immigration, they can take on the anti-war moonbats, heck they can even take themsleves on and get into a 12 step recovery plan for excessive spending.
However, I don't have any illusions they will do any of that. The August House of Eunuchs remains just that.
