I'm certainly not the first who has said this, but I think a lot of the junk comes from site pests, not just newbies but longer term posters who don't like President Bush in the first place and didn't vote for him, or held their nose and voted for him because they thought the alternative was worse, and it just fires up some of the other posters, who don't really need much of a flame to catch on fire.

I think you're exactly right. I've decided to stay away from it and let them grouse amongst themselves.

I have also noticed a small percentage of people who are unhappy with the nomination express their dissatisfaction in a mature way, and it is so refreshing. I just wish it were more common.

DrDeb, thank you, so much, for posting the numbers of Weekly Standard, etc. I've heard Bill Krystol, several times, speak against the President's SC nominee. I will write him to let him know that I TRUST OUR PRESIDENT a lot more than I trust him. Once again, "we, the people" need to speak out and stand with our President.

LOL! I've seen that plenty of times here! Wish I could post pictures, because I'd find the one where you hold up this picture of a reeeely ugly female and at the top it says "One Beer". When you turn the picture upside down it's a picture of a really beautiful woman and it says "Closing Time"!

You are very wise, Sara! You can see from a distance what so many people cannot see here close up. Yes, this president is very smart and is a good card player, thus understands people more than he is given credit. The lady he has chosen--he has been watching her closely for years and knows exactly what kind of judge she will be. This is exactly how he chose Dick Cheney and look what a strong vice president he proved to be! Just keep supporting us and praying for us, and we'll do the same for you.

Paranoid people can act scary, and a scared policeman is more apt to use his gun to defend himself than use his head and his heart to talk to someone and "talk them down."

Cops are trained to project command. When they do that, they scare paranoid people into being more paranoid.

In a small town you don't get the big city training programs that deal with this fatal type of interaction.

Pretty scary stuff! It is hard for the police, I guess, to balance control with caring. I guess big-city cops have people who go out with the cops to help control the situation without having to use violence.

That she does! Laura is one beautiful woman, and I'm glad she and President Bush have each other for support in one of the most tumultous presidencies I can remember! (And I'm OLD!)
