The Constitution is a miraculous document. It is written to apply and to be adaptable to modern times. You know how? You can amend it, but you don't amend it by having the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court institute their own personal policy preferences for it. There's an amendment process, and it's very hard to amend the Constitution. They did that on purpose, too. But there's a constitutional way to change the Constitution, but it isn't this way. This is not the way it happens.

In this statement, Rush completely destroyed any justification these judges could ever have for adjudicating new law from the bench.

I listened and even though I agree with what Mr. Limbaugh says I think I'd be a little afraid if I were a bozo supreme or likewise jurist making stupid statements as well as rulings.
Lots of crazies out there.

Thank you so much for posting this wagglebee! I listened to Rush say this today and I really wanted a transcript. He was spot on!

"Once you start finding things that aren't there, and pretending that they are, or inserting them yourself as a judge, the Constitution becomes meaningless, folks."

Don't you find it interesting that Clinton was able to name two leftist hard liners who were described as moderates and Bush cannot name moderates who are called extreme right wing conservatives?

Bush could have picked this as THE FIGHT. He didn't. It is truly regrettable. His plummeting support reflects the weakness of his decision.

Wonderful. But Rush is now opposing a woman who I believe is a good solid conservative strict constructionist. And in so doing he and others are tearing the republican party apart. I'm sick at heart over what I see happening. I frankly don't need Rush to explain to me the importance of the Constitution. I hope he likes the justices Hilary will put on the Court, because the precious Constitution will be dead in the hands of the liberals he is going to help elect.

Everybody including Rush salivated over stealth candidate Roberts who has never stood up for anything in his life. Now he's decided it's so evil to put up a stealth conservative. And all this to keep a conservative lady from Texas off the court.

Oh we'll be in great shape if this nomination is defeated. sarcasm off.

Yes he does and it is the only statement one needs but these "intellectuals" like Breyer aren't stupid. They know that they would never be able to get amendments through congress so they would rather disregard the will of the people which is the direct theft of power and the violation of the rights of the people and their representatives. It is no different than the attitudes that kept blacks from voting because "they weren't smart enough" because that is really what is behind the left. All one has to do is listen to them for a few minutes to realize they think their choices and their will should trump the will of the people.

The entire U.S. Congress has "bastardized" the U.S. Constitution. For example, redistribution of income via Socialist Security, Medicare, Medicaid, subsidies to universities............the list is endless.
