Wonderful. But Rush is now opposing a woman who I believe is a good solid conservative strict constructionist. And in so doing he and others are tearing the republican party apart. I'm sick at heart over what I see happening. I frankly don't need Rush to explain to me the importance of the Constitution. I hope he likes the justices Hilary will put on the Court, because the precious Constitution will be dead in the hands of the liberals he is going to help elect.

Everybody including Rush salivated over stealth candidate Roberts who has never stood up for anything in his life. Now he's decided it's so evil to put up a stealth conservative. And all this to keep a conservative lady from Texas off the court.

Oh we'll be in great shape if this nomination is defeated. sarcasm off.

Nothing is being torn apart. This is healthy debate. I support Miers and I think she will turn out to be an excellent nominee but it is true that Roberts was easier to confirm because he had the background. True he was stealth but he wasn't an unknown. I fully sympathize with Rush and others. I think this was made worse by the first stealth candidate, conservatives were willing to swallow one but they were expecting an unquestionable conservative this time. It looks like Roberts has turned out to be a good choice. I like his style and he has cleary allied himself Scalia and Thomas. I think Miers will too but it still is a punt and no one gets excited by punts.
