And we see a host of right wing males using borderline (or over the border) sexist langauge to lambast her. Ramesh Ponnuru says: "Wearing heels is not an impediment to being a presidential crony in this administration!" Pat Buchanan says: "Her qualifications for the Supreme Court are non-existent . . . Were she not a friend of Bush, and female, she would never have even been considered." Ed Morrissey says: "Not only does Harriet Miers not look like the best candidate for the job, she doesn't even look like the best female candidate for the job." Thank you for proving the charge that some of the oppostion is motivated by sexism. All of this could be--and probably has been said about Condi Rice as well. Anyway, the nost accurate charge is that of Rod Dreher--who works for the Dallas Morning News. He saus that Miers generally reflects the views of the Dalas business community, which does tend --like the DMN itself--to "moderate" social views. Like many Republicans they can't bring them to think that people who as a class earn so much money--gays--could possibly be upsetting to the social order.

By all means, continue to regurgitate those predigested, radical gender feminist talking points.
You make my case for me.
Rod Dreher-like nearly every other conservative commentator that has spoken out on this issue-is correct.

There's nothing sexist about pointing out that Miers is an affirmative action pick.
Sickening that we're getting this kind of garbage from a Republican, but what do you expect from the Bush family? Northeastern pseudo-conservative RINOs, all of them. We should have learned our lesson from Bush I.

Excellent post! Thanks a bunch. It is simply astonishing that so many conservatives have been hoodwinked into supporting such blatent cronyism.

Northeastern pseudo-conservative RINOs, all of them. Like Laura Bush and Miers, of course. You would be on safer ground speaking of them as typical of north Dallas.

One thing about it, even when we conservatives disagree like you and I, we will still vote conservative. Won't we?

I was speaking of the Bush family, which has its roots in the Northeast.
