"It's "The Big News" with Zbigniew Brzezinski."

I thought it was spelled "Z Big Niews"

Thanks.

We are going to see good news from Iraq this weekend I believe. From the Fourth Rail there is this note":

Sunni Divisions
By Bill Roggio

**************************************

The constitutional compromise has created an open division between a Sunni party and an Islamist group. The Islamic Iraqi Party, the most influential Sunni-led political party, rescinded its opposition to the constitution and advised its followers to vote “yes”. The Victorious Army Group immediately declared war on the Islamic Iraqi Party, stating the party an instrument of “Jews and Christians… against the Muslims in this decisive battle between a constitution made by Allah for His creation.” According to the Victorious Army Group, the Islamic Iraqi Party “should receive from the mujahideen their fate.”

Other Sunni groups are reconsidering their stand on the constitution. The Conference of the People of Iraq, a Sunni party, has also voiced their support for the constitution. The Sunni Endowment is also backing the constitution. From the statment by the Sunni Endowment; "As a way out of this ... dark tunnel and to avoid starting all over again from scratch ... the Sunni Endowment has decided to support the Iraqi Islamic Party in voting 'Yes'... Living under a flawed law is better than chaos and anarchy ... What counts for us is educating people to take part in the next election to produce honest people capable of changing or amending articles that are not in the country's best interests."

VDH is something of a hero of mine. I would like to be a column writer in the same way he is, eventually. I read him as much as I can find time to. The man is a genius. His clear minded thinking is something we badly need in the age of newthink.

And as for Mr. Brzezinski’s indictment — most of us still would prefer the United States of 2005 to the chaotic America of 1977-80 under an administration that did little to confront the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, which began in earnest on its watch with the real debacle in Tehran.

Hell yeah.

After the dismal performance of the Carter administration, ZB isn't fit to give advice on what brand of Polska Kielbasa to buy for supper.

From the Captain's Quarter Blog:

More Sunnis Accept Constitution And Pay An Immediate Price

*****************

The new agreement on the Iraqi constitution gained momentum in Sunni circles late yesterday on the eve of the plebescite for approving the bedrock law of the permanent government. The Sunni split had immediate consequences, as terrorists attacked the political offices of the latest Sunni party to endorse the new constitution for tomorrow's polling:

********************************************

My prediction is that the constitution will only lose in the Baghdad province, and otherwise find overwhelming acceptance nationwide with a voter turnout of over 10 million.

Geopolitics is one of those bodies of theory in which being categorically wrong in nearly every particular does not impede one's celebrity one bit. Brzezinski is a perfect example; so, IMHO, is Paul Kennedy. And then there was Karl Marx...

It works fine in that field, I guess, but I sure wouldn't trust an engineer whose last three bridges fell down.

You are so right. Even popular actors are punished eventually when their performance drops. A crowd can turn on any celebrity.

Maybe Brzezinski is still celebrity because nobody really cares what he says?

Things are looking better every day and freedom is becoming more secure - to the intense frustration of the Left, the jihadists and other assorted enemies of America.

This whole WOT is the fault of the CARTER administration.

And all this time I thought it was the Islamists. Thanks for the clarification.
