The owner of a Portland, Ore., grocery chain has removed Rockstar energy drinks from the shelves. The founder of Rockstar, Russell Goldencloud Weiner, is the son of Michael Savage, the perpetually enraged talk radio host.
Brian Rohter, owner of New Seasons Market, told The Portland Oregonian that Mr. Savage did "his best to take apart the fabric of our society and to attack American values."
In 2003, MSNBC fired Mr. Savage after he told a caller he assumed was gay to "get AIDS and die." He continues to employ a similar tone on his syndicated radio show.
On www.rockstar69.com, Mr. Weiner talks about his father's experience as an "herbalist" and claims his caffeine-loaded beverage is "the perfect balance of vitamins and herbs." Major ingredients are high-fructose corn syrup and glucose.

The Oregonian, BTW, filed a friend of the court brief in favor of Ciancanelli.
Bullsqueeze. Savage is a loud-mouthed rabble rouser who cannot appeal to anyone's intellect because he goes for peoples' emotions as those on the Left do. He causes no thought at all, just vicious emoting.
Those of us on the Right deserve better than his childish nonsense. It's disgusting.

There's a picture out there showing Goldencloud with celebrity endorser Ron Jeremy, so selling RockStar in a sex club would be entirely appropriate.

He definitely isn't afraid to tell it like it is. He also concentrates heavily upon a person's actions rather than his/her intentions. He gives praise where praise is due, and critcism with both barrels where criticism is due. Considering the slowly spreading infection of liberalism through the GOP (as evidenced by the continued support for open-borders/free-trade policy), and the continued marginilization of true conservatives, I'm not surprised that he's gotten steadily more bitter.
I applaud your efforts, but I believe the Constitution precludes you from doing that (although I beleive there may be precedent)

Six ounces? I'm afraid you have both RS and FT mixed up with Red Bull and others. Rockstar, Monster, and Full throttle are at least 16 ounces.
I lost touch after Red Bull. My wife's daughter used to sell the stuff and even after they dumped her she still had to have her fix. My wife would buy it buy the case at Costco and we would haul it from Sacramento to LA.
Michael "Savage" Weiner is indeed an herbalist who has written at least one book on the subject. He worked at the office of a physician I went to for awhile in Sausalito. The doctor is well thought of, and Weiner was too at the time..circa 1985. But I didn't like Weiner, found him too egotistical to be a good practitioner, and only saw him one time.
I have no idea when he became Savage, in both the upper- and lower-case sense. Perhaps it is his natural reaction to the liberal idiocy in the San Fran area, which has become so extreme in recent years. Extreme circumstances may require extreme shouting.
Oh, and, uh, by the way, Hillary has 900+ FBI files and she's 900% qualified to be C.I.C. See? Got it? Understand now????
When Rockstar took off, causing beverage giants like Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Hansen's to imitate its signature 16 oz. can double the size of Red Bull's, I knew this backlash was coming eventually.
I would be shopping at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's and other fine stores where they have a great selection of gourmet and "healthy" foods, and I would see Rockstar alongside Red Bull and other energy drinks. "If the body-pierced, goateed, dyed-hair folks with degrees in liberal arts (pun intended) only knew," I would think to myself.
Now, they know.
I've wondered if the disappearance of Dr. Soy energy bars from Trader Joe's was due to the products' founders close relationship with Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Just in case it wasn't, I didn't want to draw attention to it.
It's insulting that the Times article refers to Dr. Michael Weiner (that is, Savage) as "an 'herbalist'" as if there was a shadow of a doubt about Weiner being one of the pioneers of the field. He may be an irritation on the radio, but when it comes to botany and herbs, he knows his stuff, and has a sheepskin from Berkeley to prove it. It's not like he's Dr. Laura (of whom I am a firm defender), who is a licensed marriage and family counselor, but whose doctorate is in physiology, not psychology.
Here's something that you undoubtedly don't know: When Tom Cruise spouted off about Brooke Shields' use of antidepressants, and suggested that she could have cured her post-partum depression with exercise and certain vitamins, it had a familiar ring. After the tragedy of Andrea Yates, I was listening to Savage, and he said that PPD was due to a vitamin deficiency that women suffer after giving birth for which they are not prepared. I don't remember which vitamins he said would prevent it, but he definitely said something like that.
Two reasons: 1. To quiet down vehement criticism and bad publicity that had its genesis when a caller to KGO's Bernie Ward ("The Lion of the Left") snuck a reference to then-Mayor Willie Brown as a "jungle bunny," ABC/Disney required all employees to go through "sensitivity training." Savage, who was a substitute host at KGO at the time, rebelled.
You can't be a talk show host with the last name "Weiner," regardless of how you pronounce it.
Mr. Savage/Weiner must have named his son, Goldencloud, back when he was a left wing herbal hippie beatnick.
That was back when he was writing love letters to Allen Ginsberg, before he climbed on the conservative bandwagon.
Savage is the smartest talk show host out there.

I've listened to Savage almost from day one. Rarely missed a show in almost ten years. He's talked about his early left-leanings, pot smoking; his ego; his reasons for bragging; his on-air demeanor; his impatience with callers -- you name it.
He has foibles, IMO, which I have discussed -- for example, I do not like his sexual humor. I would never attend a live show. Some people simply cannot tell dirty jokes without sounding, well, dirty. IMO. Many others think it's funny.
After more than fifty years of seeing -- and to a little extent experiencing -- leftist lies and duplicity it's time to fight back in a manner the left can feel. Savage was one of the first to do it. That was the plan.
The good he brings to the fight far outweighs the foibles, IMO.
Why anyone would tune in just to get turned off is a mystery to me. Don't listen -- but please do not help the left build a case for the "fairness doctrine" just to shut him up "for the good of conservatism." Thanks.
LMAO at this story. It appears this 'health drink' is composed of water, sugar, caffeine and food coloring! I used to live in Portland, and sometimes shopped at Nature's (a bigger 'health food' chain), and was amazed at the variety of total junk food being hawked as 'health food'. Just put a picture of a fuzzy bunny or some such nonsense on the label, loaded with code words like 'natural', 'no preservatives', 'organic' -- and the mindless idiots reach for it almost reflexively.
But what really bothers the upscale hippies is that the owner is that son of a right-wing loudmouth. I could tell you horror stories about some of these locally-produced 'health foods', because I have worked in the factories and met the very conservative capitalist-minded owners -- but I might be breaking posting rules by defaming a particular brand. Just let me say that Rockstar isn't the only phoney item being hawked to the lefties by clever conservatives.
Maybe we Republicans should start labeling our candidates as 'whole grain politicians' and 'organically grown conservatism'. Sheesh, we could carry the entire state of Oregon!
