Will the ACLU come out to defend the rights of the white supremacists to voice their opinion?

Actually they have, years ago in Skokie IL (mostly Jewish Suburb).
Some Nazi group wanted a permit, Skokie denied it, the Nazis sued with the help of the ACLU and won.
Permit granted, march occurred, the Jewish residents of Skokie ignored them and nothing happened.

Maybe the ACLU should sue the AP for misreprenting (for $$) the people who were merely expressing themselves.

They actually did once in Skokie Illinois, but that was a very long time ago.
Actually, the ACLU defended the "right" of neo-Nazis to march through a neighborhood that had many Holocaust survivors. That was about 20 years ago. So the "right" of young thugs (who are everything to the ACLU) to torment elderly Jews (who are nothing to the ACLU) is well-established. This latest incident pits white Nazi thugs against mostly black gangs. Since gangs make inner-city life a hellhole for innocent blacks while the stupid neo-Nazi freaks are more of an annoyance (the way dog crap on a sidewalk is an annoyance), the ACLU will side with the more lethal gangs. If, on the other hand, the white supremacists have ties with actual Islamofascist terrorist organizations, then that will put them over the top and the ACLU will side with the white supremacists. Ask yourself who is more dangerous to America or who is more dangerous to innocent people, and you will find who the ACLU will side with.
Everyone knows that the gangs were looking for an excuse to riot and loot. If the mayor had declared "Butterfly Day" or "Be Kind to Kittens Day" someone would have seen that as an excuse to riot and loot. If the gangs had confined themselves to attacking the neo-Nazis, I would have for once favored what the gangs were doing. Instead, they showed themselves to be stupid, opportunistic thugs, just like the skinheads, etc.

(True or False? This is not a tag line.)
I don't know but that would be a good opportunity for the nazi bastards to sue for libel and cause even more mayhem. The biggest thing is that now they've seen how easy it is to light up a riot, so I would expect to see them do this again in other well selected racial tinderboxes.
