The (Nikola) Tesla Conspiracy (Junk Science/Energy Alert)
teslaconspiracy.com ^ | 2005 | Michael Finley & Mark DeMucha

Posted on 10/17/2005 11:54:08 AM PDT by add925

Gas prices are at record highs and the price of crude oil is only going up. The cost of electricity is skyrocketing, making it nearly impossible for most people to keep cool and safe during the blistering hot months of summer. Winter will be here soon and many won't be able to afford the outrageous cost of heating oil. We are teetering on a global energy crisis.

What would you say if I told you that for almost 100 years the technology has been available to provide the world with nearly free energy, an energy source that was self- renewing and virtually harmless to the environment? What would you say if I told you oil and energy companies were conspiring to keep these technologies away from us so that they can make maximum profits, regardless of the suffering it caused?

(later)

For a minimum contribution of $5.00, your name will be credited on the Tesla Conspiracy website as a Co-Conspirator.

After the film’s completion and release, the producer of the Tesla Conspiracy will host a series of events/concerts at various locations in the United States and possibly abroad as a show of appreciation for all who contributed/participated.

I'd say you're a liar. Somewhere on god's green earth is a country that would be using this energy source, despite the "oil company conspiracy", if it was as good as you say it is.

I'd say nuclear power has only really been mature for 30 years, not 100 and it isn't really free but it was designed to be competitive with $10 a barrel oil...

Not only is this guy a liar but an extremely bad salesman.

Gas prices are at record highs and the price of crude oil is only going up.

Yet, by clever planning,a little smarts and being tougher, I've managed to reduce my condo heating/cooling costs to about $60/month from $80-$90 and my monthly gas consumption from $100 to $80.

Hey, you don't know WOW until your big-brother's science project is to build a 6' Tesla coil and fire it up in a darkened hallway!!!!

I was about 4 years old and I thought the world came to an end!

He disrupted TV signals all over the neighborhood... it was awesome!

Sorry, just a TESLA moment...

Tesla coils are cool, extremely high voltage and (hopefully) low current. Great noise generators, sort of like my '73 Olds!

Nikola Tesla is one of the most fascinating inventors who has ever lived. When you stick with the factual account of his life (like the time he caused the Colorado Springs power plant to explode while he was creating lightning in his lab) and inventions (his "death ray") at worst he would appear to be an eccentric genius. I was hoping someone would make a movie about him. This "Tesla Conspiracy" might make him look like a nut. Too bad.

"Before knocking this, do some research. His theories are all based on scientific fact, and sound research. Probably one of the greatest geniuses in the field of electrical engineering" Which is why it is particularly offensive to see Tesla misused in this way.

BTW, did you see the bios of the people supposedly behind this?

KATHY OLSEN is an unusually brilliant and attractive, yet somewhat tom-boyish coed working on her Master’s degree in electrical engineering, with a computer science minor.

JULIE LOZANO is Kathy’s roommate and best friend. Her major in history and minor in computers make her a self-described “double geek.”

ANGELA BISCOTTI, the Dean of Electrical Engineering at the university Kathy and Julie attend, is beautiful, but very cold and uptight.

OTOH, maybe it's not a ripoff but a parody.

I'm not as sure about a conspiracy as much as stupidity and laziness. Automakers are pure "box suppliers", high volume, relatively low margins, but dead set against retooling (eats into profits).

$5? Fellow FReeper, welcome to the world of Libs. Grants, taxes & donations are their lifeblood. All they think they have to do is scare/talk somebody out of their money.

Very slowly, we'll dry up their $$ reserves.

Tesla was a genius, and far more brilliant that Edison, for whom he worked after coming to the USA from Serbia.

Unfortunately, he was also inflexible, difficult, and a bit of a pipe dreamer with no business sense. (That is why he died penniless in NY in 1943).

I am no expert here, but in the second half of Tesla's life he conducted experiments and theorized about the feasibility of various science fiction-line devices, such as a "Death Ray" that could obliterate an entire city.

My guess is that whatever this dude is talking about falls under one of these science fiction fantasies spun by Tesla.

I love these conspiracies which start with 'the energy companies are keeping this revolutionary technology from the market...' Hello!!!! If is freaking revolutionary they would scrap the expensive oil drilling nonsense and just use electricity from the earth and enjoy their patent protections while they increased their profit margins dramatically and also increased the amount of energy being used for virtually everything (Think electric cars everywhere).

Oil companies ARE oil companies because they don't have a better way to make money that oil. If you had better technology (I don't know, like say nuclear) they would use it (we effectively dont have nuclear technology because the government makes it impossible to build plants).

These companies are in it for the money!!! If they could just pull energy from the freakin' sky in quantities large enough to replace oil they would be happy to do it since it would be more reliable and reduce their overhead. We have been playing around with wind, solar, geothermal, cold fusion and Tesla for a couple of generations now. How can you explain how there isn't a single workable solution out there yet considering the amount of money we have spent as taxpayers in this country alone? Where are the defectors and whistleblowers from these giant energy companies who spill the beans about the magic power supply you can hold in your hand and power your entire city? Where are the Kennedy's with their incredibly rich liberal buddies introducing some workable technology? How come the French, English or Germans aren't any further along either??

If the conspiracy is so vast, why don't we have a single voice anywhere who can stand up to even a small amount of scrutiny and explain how we can avoid paying the extortion of Amoco/BP/Mobil/Texaco/Shell/Kennedy (yes, they too have an oil company)?

Oh shoot, apparently its medication time again here at the institution. I'll be back after the nurse gives me my pills.

"Even though I believe there's a conspiracy, why do these jokers need $5? That stipulation doesn't give them credibility."

Let's assume there is a conspiracy.

Lets assume America companies all particpate in the conspiracy.

Since Tesla's work is well documented why would a foreign company or even governments like China or Russia take advantage. This is either silly, a fraud or a parody. I'm not sure which.

No doubt Tesla was a genius. Too bad he attracts so much conspiracey attention.

I was surprised I didn't see any HAARP comments yet. You know that thing can create weather, x-ray mountains, exercise mind control, communicate with submarines in the deepest parts of the ocean, and crack the earth in half with resonating radio waves, but all they'll cop to is that's a device to study the aurora borealis. </conspiracy sarcasm>

I have several years ago. Believe its a liberal conspiracy theory to think he invented "free" energy.

Its amazing how easily people and their money are soon parted.....thanks to Global Warming, Species Extinction, Frankenfood, Virus-Prolifering Moonbats.

Tesla did some cool high-voltage experiments. Free Energy? Perhaps if you can trap and store lightning.

Wishful thinking and very misguided. Ethanol and cooking oil seems like a better alternative, though appear to be less sexy in the Federal Grant Trolling Department.

The problem is that he developed, designed and built most of his inventions in his head. He kept very few notes or journals
Not many people know that he is the true inventor of radio, AC current, electric motors and even remote control.
