Another reason kids are having trouble in school is because we are drugging them into submission They would rather drug the kids ... then teach them discipline and how to deal with real life problems

Exactly, but the Me Generation made people feel like they were entitled to everything for nothing and people stopped sacrificing so that their kids could have a better shot then they had. They figured I can't be rich, then I'll just drink and drug and wait for my check and then blame the rich people. It's a mind set that can be changed but not over night, but these people leaving New Orleans may see the American Dream for the first time. They may not get it all, but they will see that it's possible to get a piece. Sorry Behavioral Science Major, climbing off my soap box now!

They have failed to learn to dream,May I also add they have failed to learn to plan. Without a dream and a plan to make it reality, a person is stuck in the moment. Ergo, the Katrina debacle.

My wife and I have a recent Russian immigrant living with us. She's lucky that the soviets fell by the time she was 10 years old. She calls the 40 somethings of Russia "the wasted generation". Many of those people live in total dependancy on alcohol, drugs, and charity.

taught us kids that we could do and be anything we wanted .. IF we worked hard for it And isn't that what the American dream is really all about??
Those that are out to destroy America have done a good job of taking the real spirit behind the success of America out of the equation.

I know many of them in their 40's and 50's she is correct. What is the point of doing a good job or working hard if there is no incentive and no choice? Most people don't or won't motivate themselves just because.

They figured I can't be rich, then I'll just drink and drug and wait for my check and then blame the rich people People drink because they don't want to look inside themselves and realize they failed
Failure can be a good thing if one looks at the whole picture
I have learned many lessons in life by the mistakes I've made and learned not to do them again and to do better
As for NOLA ... it's a Welfare State .. it was Hughie Long's dream and now we are seeing the fall out
