'Hardball' host Chris Matthews discussed the latest in the Plame leak case with MSNBC's Amy Robach on Wednesday morning. Here's an excerpt of what he had to say:
...............If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week and they are going to blow this White House apart.
It's going to be unbelievable.
I think the people watching right now who are voters better start paying attention to this issue. It's not just about whether somebody's name was leaked, it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not, whether people knew about that or not, and what they did when they were charged against that kind of offense against the United States.
It's serious business.

*cough* Hairball Alert *cough*
Chris Matthews has turned another corner, from stupidity to insanity
bttt
I think the only thing that's going to blow apart is fat Chrissy's head.
Geez this sounds series and hugh!
What channel is this guy Chris Matthews on?
/sarc off
Screw you Chrissy.
Did he have his fingers crossed as he was salivating?
Chrissy is now pretending that the Niger yellow cake issue was the primary rationale for the war in Iraq, whereas in fact it was a very minor, last minute piece of intelligence that occupied 16 words of the president's months-long explanations about the reasons for going to war.
Watching Chrissy on Hardball right now, yeah I know but someone has to watch.
He is absolutely insane with hope that this administration is "going down".
No wonder his ratings are in the tank.
Matthews is a blithering idiot; he's about to pass out over this stuff.
A mental image I didn't need.
The sources say that Hannah and Wurmser were given orders by senior officials in Cheneys office in June 2003 to leak Plames covert status and identity in an attempt to muzzle Wilson.
Chris' guest, the reporter from the Daily News, actually said that Rove did not know Plame's name and did not reveal it. Poor Chris. Then Mrs. Orin said that the ones who were going to come out looking the worst were the media. She looked right at Chris.
He's gone 100% moonbat.
I'm trying to watch him again tonight but I'm giving up. Deborah Orin from the NYP was about to make a point and he cut her off.
Hey Matthews, learn how to do an interview. STFU and let your guests talk.
Chris Matthews head is going to EXPLODE. He wants something so bad to happen to the White House.
Pathetic liberal snob.
Wonder who his insider is this time...... the fly on the wall?
LOL Chris Matthews is the only idiot who quotes "washington Post Articles" as reliable White House Sources. He's going to be very disappointed.
You're exceeding the speed limit, Chris. Slow down.
The media hates the Bush Administration and will do anything to slam them...including a non-story such as the non-CIA leak....FILM AT 11.
There's an example of solid journalism.
"If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week "
Let's see...that's one "if" and two "probably's". Solid so far. Plus, he really went out on a limb with the "probably going to come next week" since the GJ disbands next Friday.
And the case has nothing to do with pretenses for war except the fact that Wilson's trip did help to support the case that Iraq was interesting in purchasing uranium from Niger.
Hey Chrissy, it's not serious business, it's monkey business. No wonder no one watches Matthew's show.
Chris Matthew's insider is the "Washington Post". He takes everything that is printed in that paper as some sort of secret reliable source. All he ever says when he talks about this is: "The Washington Post says" "The Washington Post says" "The Washington Post says" "The Washington Post says"....
chris is desp[erate to bump his ratings above Keith Olbermann.
He's also pretending "a nation in Africa" is automatically Niger, and the only intelligence we had was forged documents produced by France that the U.S. and U.K. didn't even use, and Joe Wilson's fact finding trip which he lied about in his editorial.
Cwissy better stop talking his "medicine' in such high doses. Two six packs and a quart of Scotch is an overdose for his "Peace Corps" condition.
"... a coordinated effort by Cheneys office to discredit the agent's husband."
Well, Wilson seems to have done a pretty good job of that, all by himself. This is just signal-to-noise, trying to get out in front with the word "discredit" in the news cycle.
I must admit that I have some anxiety.....plus, I am pissed about the DeLay travesty.
Xanax..thorazine?? Too much..not enough??
It's not just that Chris and Keith (and yes, Joe) are so irresponsible..it is that NO ONE at MSNBC pulls them into the front office and reads them the riot act.
Clearly their wild speculation is encouraged by NBC management. I don't even hear Chris pretending to use "sources" now..he just spews gleeful vitriol.
Why? Are you paralyzed and someone left your wheelchair in front of the TV, and his show is on? I can't think of another good explanation.
...but enough Jeff Gannon jokes already.
Who's to say the Grand Jury doesn't indict Rove, Scooter and others in the White House just to cause a stir.
Seemed to work on Delay.
But here's the glitch...HOW WOULD LEAKING THAT INFORMATION SHUT HIM UP? It makes no sense...it could only lead to what's going on now. The whole thing is absurd, a story from nothing.
That should read DeLay.
"Wow! You guys won't believe this! This is fantastic! I ran all the way back here."
Rumor: Cheney to Resign; Rice as V.P.
After a Washington Post story suggesting that Vice President Dick Cheneys office is involved in the Plame-CIA investigation, rumors are flying around Washington that Cheney might step aside and be replaced by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
"If that should happen, there will undoubtedly be those who believe the whole thing was orchestrated another brilliant Machiavellian move by the VP, a White House insider told Paul Bedard of U.S. News & World Report.
Some observers are whispering that the driving force behind the Rice-for-Cheney scenario is political pundit Dick Morris new book "Condi vs. Hillary: The Next Great Presidential Race.
In the book, Morris and co-author Eileen McGann warn that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the U.S. unless she can be stopped.
And Condoleezza Rice, they say, is the only Republican who can win the GOP nomination, beat Hillary and hold on to the White House for the GOP.
A move now to elevate Condoleezza to the vice presidents position would better prime her for a run against Hillary in 2008.

The dims are so desperate to get Bush at all costs, there is nothing they would do or have done to suprise me anymore.
The Delay deal is a joke, the DA is a joke, but yet it will all over evening news tonight that he was booked.
It will be no where when he is cleared!
I HATE DIMS I HATE DIMS I HATE DIMS.
Chris seems pretty sure of his predictions. He is either going to be lauded or laughed out of D.C. I would love to know just who is contacts are that are so convincing to him that he would chance looking like the biggest goober in MSM history. 'cause if it doesn't come down the way he thinks...
Doesn't Chrissy's show still trail it's rivals on FOX and even CNN? No wonder they have to put in print what he says on his show. No one is watching!
Rush tore him a new orifice today over this, it was hilarious.
Current rumor from leftwingnut RawStory.com
.
I admire your intestinal fortitude visiting that site, thanks for the humor!
it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not - so they are inditing George "slam dunk" Tenent?
NOW what's going to happen if the situation
doesn't pan out as CM predicts? He'll actually
cry on camera again as he did when Kerry lost?
Sad. CM's dad must be rolling over in his grave.
It ends with his jaw wired shut for the next 12 months.
Maybe his theme song should be......THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY.......
