President Commends House for Passing the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act"
I commend the House for passing the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act." Our laws should punish criminals who use guns to commit crimes, not law-abiding manufacturers of lawful products. This legislation will further our efforts to stem frivolous lawsuits, which cause a logjam in America's courts, harm America's small businesses, and benefit a handful of lawyers at the expense of victims and consumers. I look forward to signing this legislation into law.
While this bill isn't perfect, it is a big step forward - about five steps forward, and one step back. It's much better than what we had before.
I'll take 'em big and I'll take 'em small.
Not as much as I'm looking forward to the day you sign it. A lot of have been waiting a long time for this moment.
They need to revoke the law that banned common sense!
Speaking of common sense, is that inane trigger lock requirement still in the bill?
inane? it's very ane.
Haven't looked at what they finally got around to passing.
Yep, and I'm one of those who have been waiting. When Bush signs this bill into law I would love to be a fly on the wall at one of those liberal law firms that has specialized in bringing baseless lawsuits against gun manufacturers. I hope they choke on their $20 cigars when he pulls out that pen. I don't think the industry has lost a lawsuit case yet, but the $200,000,000 in legal expenses they have incurred defending the suits has forced them to raise the price of every gun on the market.
Of course that was the antis plan all along. Cost the gun makers so much money defending lawsuits that they would either go out of business or be forced to make guns so expensive that few people could afford them.
Unfortunatly it is. It's the one step back.
Miniscule price to pay for the law getting passed. This is hugh and series!
