Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for He guards the lives of His faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise His holy Name.
We come before You in praise and adoration, grateful for yet another day of life and blessings. We confess that we are sinners in need of the Savior, Who came to teach us how to live in this world and then gave us the imcomparable gift of forgiveness and eternal life when He willingly went to the Cross of Calvary. Help us to show our humble gratitude by living lives that bring honor and glory to Your blessed Name!
Lord, we come together to pray for President Bush and ask that You lead him and guide him through each day. Let him heed Your voice and not lean on his own understanding. Let Your wisdom flow through him that he might lead our country and the world according to Your will. Fill him with peace even as the political world in which he dwells is fraught with enmity and division. Bless Laura and let their marriage continue to thrive and be a refuge for both of them. Watch over them and keep them safe from all harm, physical or spiritual.
O Lord, we are so grateful for the men and women that serve in our military; their sacrifices have been great and their skill has been amazing. Sustain them as they continue in their difficult tasks, whether it be fighting terrorists in foreign lands or helping those ravaged by hurricanes in our own country. Minister to their needs, O Lord, whether those needs are for healing, for strength and courage, for wisdom and insight, for reassurance of Your abiding presence with them, or for a saving knowledge of Jesus. Comfort the families who wait at home, missing their loved ones, fearing for their safety, and yet finding the fortitude to continue on with their daily lives. Lord, gather those who have lost heroes in this battle against terrorism into Your embrace and let them know of Your great love for them and Your understanding of their pain and grief.
Father, we do hate evil -- the horrors of abortion, the strife and division within our country, the lies and deceit we hear daily, the attempts to have Your very Name removed from public places, the blatant disregard of Your commandments, the ridicule towards those who call themselves children of God, and all the other signs we see in today's world that the Evil One is using his wiles to turn people away from You and Your Word. We throw ourselves upon Your mercy, pleading with You to forgive our nation, O Lord, and to renew in our people a desire to honor You and to serve You, the One True God. Soften the hearts of those grown hard and cold to Your ways and bring light into their lives, casting out the dark shadows where evil lurks. Give us the courage to stand up for Your righteousness and to no longer sit idly by while others seek to destroy that which is good and true and pure. Bless America, O Lord! In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
I am in agreement in His name.
Amen

"The love of Christ constraineth us."
- 2 Corinthians 5:14
How much owest thou unto my Lord? Has he ever done anything for thee? Has
he forgiven thy sins? Has he covered thee with a robe of righteousness?
Has he set thy feet upon a rock? Has he established thy goings? Has he
prepared heaven for thee? Has he prepared thee for heaven? Has he written
thy name in his book of life? Has he given thee countless blessings? Has
he laid up for thee a store of mercies, which eye hath not seen nor ear
heard? Then do something for Jesus worthy of his love. Give not a mere
wordy offering to a dying Redeemer. How will you feel when your Master
comes, if you have to confess that you did nothing for him, but kept your
love shut up, like a stagnant pool, neither flowing forth to his poor or
to his work. Out on such love as that! What do men think of a love which
never shows itself in action? Why, they say, "Open rebuke is better than
secret love." Who will accept a love so weak that it does not actuate you
to a single deed of self-denial, of generosity, of heroism, or zeal! Think
how he has loved you, and given himself for you! Do you know the power of
that love? Then let it be like a rushing mighty wind to your soul to sweep
out the clouds of your worldliness, and clear away the mists of sin. "For
Christ's sake" be this the tongue of fire that shall sit upon you: "for
Christ's sake" be this the divine rapture, the heavenly afflatus to bear
you aloft from earth, the divine spirit that shall make you bold as lions
and swift as eagles in your Lord's service. Love should give wings to the
feet of service, and strength to the arms of labour.
Fixed on God with a constancy that is not to be shaken, resolute to
honour him with a determination that is not to be turned aside, and
pressing on with an ardour never to be wearied, let us manifest the
constraints of love to Jesus.
May the divine loadstone draw us heavenward towards itself.
