Anti-Semitic poem in children’s school book By Jeremy Last Updated: 16/Oct/2005

A poem which praises the murder of Jews by the Nazis has been included in a book of children’s poetry to be distributed amongst schools in the UK.

The publication, entitled Great Minds, features the work of school children aged 11 to 18 who won a nationwide literary competition.

But one poem has generated outrage amongst Jewish groups, politicians and Holocaust charities for its anti-Semitic content.

The entry by the 14-year-old Gideon Taylor is apparently written from the viewpoint of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

It includes the lines "Jews are here, Jews are there, Jews are almost everywhere, filling up the darkest places, evil looks upon their faces."

Another part reads: "Make them take many paces for being one of the worst races, on their way to a gas chamber, where they will sleep in their manger… I'll be happy Jews have died."

Publisher defends poem

The book was produced by Forward Press who ran the Great Minds competition through its youngwriters.co.uk website.

Wining entries were rewarded with cash prizes of up to 20ukp for pupils and 1,000ukp for schools.

According to the Jewish Telegraph newspaper, the poem was the only entry in the entire book not to include the writer’s school or location.

Young Writers editor Steve Twelvetree, who also edited the book, said the poem was included as it illustrated how the writer was able to empathise with the infamous Nazi Fuehrer.

Twelvetree told the Telegraph: "From Gideon's poem and my knowledge of the National Curriculum Key Stage 3 his poem shows a good use of technical writing and he has written his poem from the perspective of Adolf Hitler.”

The editor continued: "Key Stage 3 history requires pupils to show knowledge and understanding of events and places - to show historical interpretation and to explain significance of events, people and places, all of which World War II and the Holocaust is part of.

"The poem clearly states 'I am Adolf Hitler' and it recounts a historical fact, something Young Writers and Forward Press are not willing to censor."

Widespread outrage

However, communal leaders were less than impressed with the poem’s inclusion in a book which they said could be influential on youngsters' views of Jewish people.

Chief executive of the Board of Deputies of British Jews Jon Benjamin said: "It is the duty of the publisher to consider the consequences of the poem."

Jewish Labour MP, Louise Ellman, who represents the constituency of Liverpool Riverside, spoke of her concern.

She said: "It's an incitement to racial hatred. The words are absolutely outrageous and appalling."

And a spokesman for the Holocaust Educational Trust echoed Ellman’s views. The charity is now urging the publishers to issue a formal apology for the book and remove the offending poem.

A spokesman said: "It is totally insensitive and inappropriate for this kind of hatred to appear.

"It is also immensely insulting to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust and to those who survived."

I understand it, because I have an absolute hatred for people who hate Jews, especially those ba$tards who blow Jews up.

The hatred is really bizarre.

And it's happening to our American youth, too. Check out this story on ABC News yesterday about this lovely pair of 13 year old lasses in Bakersfield, CA. This'll turn your stomach, too.

Oct. 20, 2005 — Thirteen-year-old twins Lamb and Lynx Gaede have one album out, another on the way, a music video, and lots of fans.

They may remind you another famous pair of singers, the Olsen Twins, and the girls say they like that. But unlike the Olsens, who built a media empire on their fun-loving, squeaky-clean image, Lamb and Lynx are cultivating a much darker personna. They are white nationalists and use their talents to preach a message of hate.

Known as "Prussian Blue" — a nod to their German heritage and bright blue eyes — the girls from Bakersfield, Calif., have been performing songs about white nationalism before all-white crowds since they were nine.

"We're proud of being white, we want to keep being white," said Lynx. "We want our people to stay white … we don't want to just be, you know, a big muddle. We just want to preserve our race."

Lynx and Lamb have been nurtured on racist beliefs since birth by their mother April. "They need to have the background to understand why certain things are happening," said April, a stay-at-home mom who no longer lives with the twins' father. "I'm going to give them, give them my opinion just like any, any parent would."

April home-schools the girls, teaching them her own unique perspective on everything from current to historical events. In addition, April's father surrounds the family with symbols of his beliefs — specifically the Nazi swastika. It appears on his belt buckle, on the side of his pick-up truck and he's even registered it as his cattle brand with the Bureau of Livestock Identification.

"Because it's provocative," explains April of the cattle brand, "to him he thinks it's important as a symbol of freedom of speech that he can use it as his cattle brand."

Teaching Hate

Songs like "Sacrifice" — a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer — clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing. The lyrics praise Hess as a "man of peace who wouldn't give up."

"It really breaks my heart to see those two girls spewing out that kind of garbage," said Ted Shaw, civil rights advocate and president of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund — though Shaw points out that the girls aren't espousing their own opinions but ones they're being taught.

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who found their compliments of the writing to be ridiculous. Which underscores the question, "How did this make the cut?"

Our Pittsburgh right-wing radio guy has said before that liberals are most impressed by someone who takes the most outrageous position, but manages to rationalize it somehow. This, I think, may be a clue. They picked it because it was so offensive. But not too offensive, of course, since it's only about a buncha joos.

I've never understood the absolute hatred some people have for Jews.

I suggest it is not a hatred of the Jews...it is a hatred of their God and their being the apple of His eye.

Furthermore...

"It is also immensely insulting to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust and to those who survived."

No words and certainly no stupid children's poem (no matter how hateful) can truly insult those who suffered the Holocaust. Their words are no more insulting that the bark of a junkyard dog. Their words are insignificant because they are insignificant.

I have more control over an album my children bring into my house than I do a book they read in school. Perhaps that is why it's been published in a book for school and not one a parent has to actually buy and allow.

I know. I am an evangelical Christian, but I have many Jewish family members and friends. The holocaust is the greatest scandal of modernity. I may be getting a little long in the tooth, but I am pretty fit and ready for this next war.

And if the President does much more mollycoddling of Islam, I am moving to Israel and joining the IDF.

While Prussian Blue might be new to you due to their MSM exposure, these girls have been at this since they were at LEAST seven. They are nothing more than puppets to their father's moronic world view.

A pity, really.

Trust me. Prussian Blue white power crap music won't make it in to your child's music collection. It's awful music to begin with.

If you want to "DEMO" their music, I'm sure you can find a source or two.

And remember: Despite the tags the libs like to pin on us Conservatives: Nazis are socialists.

I fail to see how the author or the "voice" qualify as "Great Minds". Denounce racism and bigotry where it arises. Don't praise it.

How about this poem in the voice of a different historical figure?

I am mad man Mo'.
I lov(*)ed my eight year old bride.
I always kill Jews.

* redacted in a way that these authorities may have been unwilling to censor. It WAS a historical fact.

There is a big overreaction to this. The kid was, quite possibly, just being a kid. While the poem should not have been published, it would be nice if the ranters and screamers would go after more difficult and dangerous targets who express equally evil views in their own voices. I'm not holding my breath.

The left is finally coming to embrace Adolf Hitler openly, for the first time since the Nazi-Soviet Pact.

Expect more of this garbage in the years to come from the schools and universities.

Hitler and Nazism will soon be spoken of far less critically, and perhaps even admiringly, for having tried to abort Israel before its rebirth.

This bothers me even more than the inclusion of the poem--the absolute silence of everyone except the Jews and the decent folks on the right (mostly Christian). What do we hear from the usually very vocal left, who claim to champion human rights and scream "fascist" at the drop of a pin? Where is the denunciation from the politicians?
