Russia develops own stealth technology

MOSCOW, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Russia is developing stealth aircraft that use plasma screens to disperse radar waves, MosNews reported Monday.

Anatoly Koroteyev, the head of the Keddysh Research Center, said a mobile plasma generator creates a plasma screen that disperses radar. That differs from U.S. stealth technology, which designs aircraft wings and fuselages to reflect radar, he said.

Koroteyev said plasma screen technology can be used on any aircraft, including older models and that it is far less expensive than the stealth technology used on U.S. aircraft.

Curious...the Russians have always been clever with inexpensive solutions to complex problems...and remember, it was a Russian mathematician that came up with the equations for which US stealth tech is based.
