ICE TO DEPORT HOSPITAL TECHNICIAN CONVICTED OF TAKING PICTURES OF WOMAN AWAITING SURGERY

Secretly took graphic pictures of hospital patient under anesthesia; faces deportation to Mexico

CHICAGO - A former hospital technician, who pleaded guilty last month to secretly photographing a woman under anesthesia and awaiting surgery, was arrested Friday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on immigration violations and faces deportation.

ICE special agents arrested José C. Rostro, 23, a Mexican national, at his Bolingbrook home after receiving information from law enforcement authorities that he was illegally residing in the United States. Rostro was working as a technician at Edward Hospital in Naperville in October 2004 when he secretly took explicit photographs of a woman who was under anesthesia in an operating room there. Authorities found pictures of the woman in Rostro's camera after he was arrested for taking photographs under a girl's skirt as she rode up an escalator at a Downers Grove clothing store.

Rostro pleaded guilty in the Circuit Court of DuPage County to unauthorized videotaping and was sentenced Oct. 19 by DuPage County Judge Nicholas Galasso to two years probation.

During an interview with ICE special agents, Rostro admitted to being in the U.S. illegally after crossing the southwestern border about 12 years ago. He was taken into ICE custody and is being held without bond until his hearing before a federal immigration judge.

“This is an individual who violated the privacy of a hospital patient in the most reprehensible manner,” said Elissa A. Brown, special agent-in-charge of ICE investigation in Chicago. “José Rostro is in this country illegally and committing crimes against innocent victims. ICE will do everything in its power to deport him back to Mexico. I want to thank the DuPage County State's Attorney Joseph Birkett and the police departments of Downers Grove and Bolingbrook for their assistance in this case.”

DuPage State's Attorney Joseph Birkett had this to say upon learning of Rostro's arrest: “I want to thank the cooperative efforts of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Downers Grove Police department. José Rostro came to this country illegally and proceeded to commit crime after crime by inappropriately photographing unsuspecting young women and girls. The efforts of these agencies in deporting José Rostro and others like him who commit crimes while illegally in this country assist in protecting the safety of the people of our community. For that we are truly grateful.”

Deport him and Deport him fast - it is too bad we can't brand his forehead somehow. Thank you ICE! Can you believe this pervert has been in this country for 12 years? I wonder what else he has done - amnesty would have left him here.......

So where can we see the evidence? OK, never mind; it just bothers me that we need an excuse to deport an ILLEGAL alien. Why start with this pervert; what about 100s of thousands of illegal felons currently during time in federal prison. Lets seal the border tight and ship them all back to Mexico (or where ever they came from).

I really have been having similar thoughts - just like Castro emptying jails and insane aslyums to export the dredges of society to the Great Satan, America.

When one reads that such a large percentage of sexual criminals serving time in prisons and jails or worse yet, on bond or probation are illegals, mostly from Mexico, one begins to suspect that Vicente Fox is sending their problems to the border, knowing that the compassionate conservatives will allow the hordes to infect our society and do the crimes that most Americans refuse to do.

I heard about this case last week.

The Judge didn't think his crime warranted jail time.

What you can't discern from this article is this guy had pics of at least 50 (FIFTY!) women on his camera.

I'll see if I can find the article.

Correction....50 women and GIRLS:

Associate Judge Nicholas Galasso sentenced Jose Rostro, of 345 Lyons Drive, to probation, community service, counseling and a fine, but no jail time.

Prosecutors said Rostro taped a woman in the hospital and that they had photo evidence of at least 50 other young women and girls who were also victims of secret photographing.

Illegal alien working as a hospital technician!!!? Geez, we are really, really in trouble. Did anybody ask him to provide his immigration documents when he was hired? Or did they pay him under the table? They should bring charges against the person who hired him. After all, it's a public hospital, not a private backyard. People's lives are at stake.

Less than ten percent of the participants in The Mariel Boatlift were actual criminals and/or psychopaths.

Castro simply labeled individuals who ran afoul of his regime "criminals."

Plus, many of those interned in insane asylums were political prisoners.

Contrast that with the flotsam that washes up on our shores from the Rio Grande on a regular basis.

I'm waiting for the year when the Congress decides to impose a zero percent quota on immigrants from Mexico, and retroactively deports every Mexican who was given an amnesty under previous administrations.

Fly him to Mexico city, first class and then deduct the costs from our "foreign aid" to Mexico. If we did that for each one, the illegal immigration would stop and the airline industry would recover.

HA! Reminds me of the April Fool's joke some coworkers pulled on one of our helpers. They have him a phone number and said, "They have a box waiting on you there." He called; it was the local funeral home.

I'm not a huge Michael Savage fan-though he is entertaining-but I think he had a brilliant solution to our invas-uh, I mean "immigration"-problem.

Force Pemex to give us a barrel of oil for each border-jumper that scampers his or her way north illegally.

It sounds like a fair exchange to me.

How do illegals become employed in hospitals? This POS creature will probably just come back across the border in a matter of a few weeks.

I guess terrorists could become gainfully employed anywhere in this country as well with forged documents. Meanwhile, our government does nothing about the border. Private citizens have to do that for them.

Thanks for the ping granny.

An illegal immigrant previously deported after being convicted of taking lewd pictures of an Edward Hospital patient is back in the country.

Jose C. Rostro, 26, was convicted of disorderly conduct and unauthorized videotaping after taking digital pictures of a partially dressed, semiconscious patient who was at the Naperville hospital for a procedure after a miscarriage.
