Stop embarrassing yourself and everyone else with such nonsense since that is completely incorrect. Please read the link I gave just above so you gan find out the differente betweed the two tax bases (income vs. consumption).

Paying tax on profits (and not the entire sales revenue) works all the way down the production/distribution chain, but the tax is only on the profits of each business in the different levels. In no way would the entire $85.00 be taxed as you state, let alone the entire $100. You are very confused as to how cascading embedded taxes function - or even, apparently, how the income tax system does.

Take the $85.00 figure and determine the profit on it ($85 x .15 = $12.75 and then the tax on that; $12.75 x .25 = $3.19) and so on down the line. The amount of taxes paid is dramatically lower than you realize and reduces with each level. But it is not the illegal income recipient paying these taxes - he is merely paying the higher price for the thing he buys and at the final consumption level only where in the earlier example the tax contribution was $3.75, not $23.00.

You need to understand that a sales tax and an income tax have the same different bases: GDP consumption and income respectively ... and never the twain shall meet.
