Appease the Left and they don't warm up to you. Hasn't Bush learned anything in the last four years? Sheesh!
---
Besides foreign policy, it's all he's done in 4 years...
Please substantiate your hypothesis in light of the fact that RR faced downed a congress that had both houses with demo majorities and was adversarial if not out and out hostile.
RR formed a coalition of Americans dedicated basically to reverse the march to a socialist dictatorship precisely by having core values and beliefs and the Stones to implement them.
Newt Gingrich using similar tactics won over the House.
When GWB started the Presidency in spite of the toon we had made progress and well on the road away from socialism. The Fed size and payroll had been reduced somewhat from levels of the Carter years, welfare reform (during toon due to Newt) etc.
The direction we are taking on that road since GWB lends credence to your hypothesis, albeit it looks like the proof falls on the NO Stones side.
has more people working for the federal government since the end of the Cold War, largest rate of increase in FED payroll in history. (socialist and dictatorship)
increased federal spending on education by 60.8 percent. (socialist and dictatorship)
Has no intention of eliminating a single fed department (socialist and dictatorship)
increased federal spending on labor by 56 percent (socialist)
increased federal spending on the interior by 23.4 percent (socialist)
signed the farm bill (socialist)
pushed through a Medicare plan which starts with a price tag of $400 billion and will increase exponentially over the next decade, larger than LBJ' War on Poverty. (socialist)
imposed tariffs in both agriculture and steel, same thing that Taft did to start the depression in the 20s. (socialist) (since rescinded)
Signed a campaign-finance bill he thought was unconstitutional (dictatorship)
Proposing to Federalize disaster response (military) to by pass the states. (dictatorship)
hasnt vetoed a single spending or any other bill for that matter
Throwing money down the drain in foreign aid (not war related)
Frankly, I dont understand why the left hates GWB so much it looks like they should be embracing him.
If you respond please dont give credit for the economy unless you are prepared to give credit to toon during his years. The up and down of the economy is a function of the normal business cycle which the president has little influence. The tax cut was too small to have any impact.
Although GWB will not be president again, this issue along with a small host of others will/is carried over to congress and state races.
You bushies need to recognize that the emperor as well as the GOP has no clothes.
Our income tax cuts, banning of partial birth abortion, arming pilots, killing Kyoto, and deploying our national missile defenses appeased the Left in your world?!
The Left hates President Bush because he is so effective at advancing America. To wit:

Thank you for the massive data dump, some of which is redundant. I attempted to go over in detail all the specific issues some of which I agree with others which reinforce my position.
However, with the exception of taking my comment out of context, there is nothing addressing the thrust of neither my post nor the post that I was addressing. The issue at hand is whether (paraphrasing) appeasement of the left is the answer.
While I am disappointed in this, I think if you step back for a moment you will realize that we have bigger fish to fry..
If this was about rescinding Davis-Bacon everywhere, well that might be worth fighting for. But is was only a suspension. Fighting this would take valuable resources and energy away from bigger, more important fights.
Anyone who has ever had children understands just how important it is to pick your battles.
well, a few things here and there, but take a look at these charts:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1400545/posts?page=59#55
It all addressed your point because none of that appeased the Left.
Sending Bolton to the UN didn't "appease the Left."
Cutting income taxes didn't "appease the Left."
Banning partial birth abortion didn't "appease the Left."
Deploying our national missile defenses didn't "appease the Left."
Putting Hussein in jail didn't "appease the Left."
Killing the Kyoto global warming nonsense didn't "appease the Left."
Pulling out of the ICC didn't "appease the Left."
Killing the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban treaty didn't "appease the Left."
Arming pilots and giving our firearms manufacturers immunity from lawsuits didn't "appease the Left."
Is that too much for you?! Is that too large of a "data dump" for you to read through?
Or have I made my point so crystal clear that you can't see some imaginary argument through it?
This is black and white. I'm giving you incontravertible examples of President Bush poking the Left in the eye with a sharp stick time and time again.
Yet you're claiming that he is appeasing the Left...no, that he is **only** appeasing the Left. Somehow, I sense a dichotomy here.
LOL If you think that was my point you are woefully mistaken.
Sirchtruth said If you people, who think Bush has "No Stones" or "Rolls Over" all the time to appease dems were in charge the repubs would be out of power for centuries and we'd be living in a socialist dictatorship by now!!
Full post no more or less.
I responded to that hypothesis.
I never said that GWB appeased anyone Sirchtruth implied that GWB was an appeaser.
I addressed the issue repubs would be out of power for centuries and we'd be living in a socialist dictatorship by now
with specific points that were limited to the economic and loss of freedom.
You responded by basically taking one comment
Frankly, I dont understand why the left hates GWB so much it looks like they should be embracing him.
which was limited to the fiscal and growth of government actions of GWB with yes, a data dump.
I pointed out the above in a brief post assuming that you would reread the posts.
Sirchtruth, I am CC you since you are refferenced.
