Rangel: Cheney Needs A Psychological Test

Congressman Charles Rangel is stepping up his attacks on Vice President Dick Cheney, saying he should take a psychological test if he wants to stay in office.
The congressman was reacting to the indictment and resignation of Cheney's chief-of-state, Lewis Scooter Libby, in connection to a federal probe of who released the identity of a CIA officer's name to the media.
In the last two months, Rangel has questioned whether Cheney is healthy enough to stay in office...while Cheney has said Rangel is quote, losing it.
"Suppose I was to challenge the Vice President on your show and say if you're not mentally ill why don't you take a test and show the American people you're up to it," Rangel said on Friday's Road To City Hall. "And guess what? He's been out of town ever since we said that. Ever since we discussed this he's left town ... It's not enough when youre sick to say that you're not sick. That's what you call denial. It just seems to me since he's challenged me on my age that I should challenge him on his ability to be able to function properly."

Well, since Charlie's about ten, eleven years older, I think he should be a good sport and take one first.

As THE senior member of the Congressional Black Caucus, I wonder if it Rankles Rangel that he has zero influence on Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? He just sputters at Cheney like a skid row bum.

The Huffington blog is bound to take interest in this. Probably will use their in-house expert in such inquiries, David Frum.

The only test needed here is for that mega-corrupt demogogue Rangel, one of the biggest thieves and bribe takers in the House. We can start with tests for sobriety and dementia.
To: West Coast Conservative
Consider that Rangel would be the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee should the Dems win back the House. That should be enough to keep you up Halloween night.

They hate Cheney because when he speaks he comes off as a level-headed, capable, experienced, extremely well-educated adult. The moonbats don't have a real, live adult among them. In the political scheme, they are nothing but immature, troublemaking kids. If it weren't for the MSM constantly obfuscating reality, the vast majority of Americans would understand this.

Meanwhile, the spineless GOP stays quiet, head in the sand lil spineless jellyfish. Another day, another slap into the face of a Republican is met with cowardly silence.
When push comes to shove, real men defend their honor, the GOP pussies (CHENEY included) hide in the corner and shiver. The Dems are steamrolling them along with the RINOs, and Bush and Cheney sit in the dark. How many more indictments on politically trumped up charges will the GOP get whacked with before they say enough is enough.
I've been listening to the GOP girlie-men too long, they will not get one dime from me. This conservative is no longer a Republican.

Rangle would have to stand up a thousand times to make a Cheney shadow. This race-baiting, gutter rat doesn't even have the sense to keep his stupid mouth shut. Like the rest of the Black Caucus -- which should be renamed "THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK RACISTS".
Absolute stupidity and corruption.

This is a serious problem. The real target is not Cheney, but Bush.
They are trying to isolate him by marginalizing Cheney
Rove has to maintain a low profile because of the Plame investigation and indictments.
Cheney is being painted a a diminished V.P.
They are painting Bush into a corner for some reason

Rangel reminds be of the mob boss in the Dirty Harry film Sudden Impact who keels over dead at his daughter's wedding when Harry busts into the party, strolls up to his table, and reels off a few things he and his wedding party didn't want to hear.

It's like Al Franken's attacks on Limbaugh. Nobody pays any attention to those either. But they certainly would if Rush acknowledged them.
Some things and people are best ignored, and ole dumb Rangel is one of them.

Sadly, you're 100 percent correct. What the RNC--or one of their donors--needs to do is hire some top drawer private investigators and put them on Rangel. It wouldn't take too much digging or surveillance to nail this sleaze ball.

Rangel is one of the few dems who can just about say anything and get away with it regardless how ridiculous or inane. His constitutes don't hold him accountable.
There is more here than Rangel being a moronic old fart.
There is a strategy at play here.

I think the dems are terrified that Cheney will run for president - even though Cheney says he will not.
The reason is .. if Cheney were to run - Hillary's campaign is dead upon arrival.

BINGO! The above deserves re-statement. Where the hell is the rationale for a strategy that allows despicable lies and character assassination to go unanswered. Since when is it considered proper to let bullies and liars to go unanswered?
When a bully and/or a liar makes you a target and you fail to respond, you are either a coward or guilty. C'mon REPUGS, DEFEND YOURSELVES!

Actually, notice how Cheney is just rousing Charlie, he knows he's a joke and embarrassment. "Losing it," suggests he was just being a little sarcatically playful. Kinda pretending to play along with a little tit for tat Charlie always engages in.
Do yous guys remember during the Clinton impeachment hearings Maxine Waters kept wanting to say something and interupted Hyde, and Hyde in this very uppity, childish endearing (Just as if Maxine was a little child) voice says, "Yes, Maxine, whatever you like." or something like that. It was so funny I ROTFLMAO!
That was the committee hearing inwhich Alec Balwin went balistic and made the comment about stoning Henry Hyde on Letterman.
