RAN has promised a reward of $10,000 (£5,600) to Islamic Jihad if the militant group launches rockets from the West Bank towards Tel Aviv, a senior Palestinian intelligence official said last week.
Speaking in his Ramallah office, the official produced a fat wad of $100 notes which he said had been confiscated from a pro-Iranian Islamic Jihad activist.
The money was said to have gone from Iran to Damascus, the Syrian capital, from where Ibrahim Shehadeh, Islamic Jihads head of overseas operations, transferred it to the West Bank.
According to the intelligence official, the Palestinian Authority has located workshops where Al-Quds (Jerusalem) rockets are being made and has given their co-ordinates to the Israelis. We understand they destroyed some of them, he said.

"One of the best things about Saddam being out of power is he isn't paying off suicide bombers families anymore. Now the president of Iran does this."
And it's our soldiers and Iraqis that are getting killed.
The Royal Australian Navy has done no such thing! :)
Seriously though, anybody with half a brain wouldn't be surprised at this. Why we permit scum like this to live has me completely buggered.
A 9.0 over there would do wonders to clean things up a bit...and they won't need any of our relief help since they got lots of money to throw around.
That's just his protection payment.
Do you think Israel wouldn't help us if we ask?
can anyone substantiate this?
Remember with whom we are dealing. Bloodthirsty rival factions will give each other up, sometimes by telling the truth and sometimes by lying. Someone else does their dirty work and they are free to shed crocodile tears. No doubt it happens with the MNF in Iraq, too.
Crafty intelligence services have to sort this stuff out. And politicians have to decide whether to refrain and pressure the PA itself to act, or to act on their own in order to protect lives.
I have no doubt Israel has been helping us since 911. My only point is that is that now it's us & the Iraqis plagued by the suicide bombers sent by Syria and funded by Iran.
They want to be attacked.
That way the usal traitors in this country will never stop whning that the war is "unjust"
$10,000?
What cheapskates. That won't even pay for one of the BMWs the Israelis will heli-zap in retaliation, let alone the funerals of the rats inside.
Great to know that some have unwavering confidence in the PA. Since they have never been complicit in killing Americans and all. We just need to send Condi back in to convince the PA, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad that it is OK to kill Americans; as long as the lip service keeps up. Me, I am for cutting off ALL aid to any group associated with the killing of Americans; especially American diplomats. But that is just unenlightened me; what with calling for the eradication of all factions that harm the interests of America.
You mean like Sec. Rice and Pres. Bush?
To stop giving the PA endless chances to control itself and its allies is to admit that the policy of hoping animals will tame themselves has failed. No one in the US government is going to admit a mistake or failure about this.
Iran has one...count 'em...one ally in the Middle East: Syria.
And Syria appears to be folding. Syria has started turning in terrorists to the U.S. and Syria has pulled its Army out of Lebanon.
So Iran is pretty freaked out right now that they are about to lose their only ally...that Syria is getting smart enough lay low for the next few years (at least until President Bush is out of office).
So Iran wants either the coming conflict with the U.S. to happen now while they still have an ally in Syria, or to bluff the U.S. into backing off.
This means that Iran is stuck emulating North Korea's "crazy aunt in the attic" strategy, in spades.
Of course, the U.S. is playing the game the otherway. We want to get Syria out of their alliance with Iran before we do what needs to be done there (probably a blockade of Iran in the end...combined with arming the Iranian students).
Someing must be done about Iran anfd something must be done as soon as possible. Before it is too late.

Did we use a nuclear attack against Iraq? I assume they would first take out Iran's long range capabilities along with their eyes and ears and then concentrate on infrastructure.
