Don't forget about the double-standard. A Republican commits a crime and "a culture of corruption" is uncovered. A Democrat commits a crime, such as taking sensitive classified documents out of the National Archives for the purpose of destroying them, and he gets a slap on the wrist.

I always like the one about Alabama (I think) Representative Alcee Hastings. As an impeached and convicted judge, he's not supposed to be allowed to hold any public office, yet he has served as an elected Representative for years.

Can you imagine a Republican getting such a pass?

It would never happen. This would be the top story for weeks on all the news shows.

Aw, gee...poor fellow. I see. So, he's part of a TRUE conspiracy to protect Jamie Gorelick, and the whole Clinton administration, from the truth about how completely vulnerable those people left us to 9/11, and...he gets a fine. And the MSM acted like he was soooo maligned. How democrat. How MSM.

Of course, this is all merely a part of their long-time strategy to muddle the game and gain power via innuendo, accusation and allegation, because they can't win at the ballot box. As in the principle from psychology known as "projection," they and their abettors violently heap that of which THEY are guilty of, in the form of the most heinous accusations on their opponents. Their mere allegations, but backed by the MSM they become tangible in the minds of so many non-thinking people.

And then there's the case of Washington, D.C. mayor Marion (pronounced "Mary Jane") Barry (sp?). Would a Republican caught red-handed smoking crack face even a snowball's chance of regaining office?

But the Republicans are evil, and the democrats are wholesome and pure. The Mainstrem Media is totally objective.

Case in point? The saintly Hillary from an actual New York Times graphic, (I kid you not)

And her is a fair and unbiased enhancement of Condi Rice from USA Today this week:

(The actual photo before the USA Today forgery)

POLITICAL FALL-OUT
- According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Democrats held a 1,542 seat lead in the state bodies in 1990. As of November 2000 that lead had shrunk to 288. That's a loss of over 1,200 state legislative seats, nearly all of them under Clinton. Across the US, the Democrats controlled only 65 more state senate seats than the Republicans.

Further, in 1992, the Democrats controlled 17 more state legislatures than the Republicans. After November, the Republicans control one more than the Democrats. Not only was this a loss of 9 legislatures under Clinton, but it was the first time since 1954 that the GOP had controlled more state legislatures than the Democrats (they tied in 1968).

Here's what happened to the Democrats under Clinton:

- GOP seats gained in House since Clinton became president: 48
- GOP seats gained in Senate since Clinton became president: 8
- GOP governorships gained since Clinton became president: 11
- GOP state legislative seats gained since Clinton became president: 1,254
as of 1998
- State legislatures taken over by GOP since Clinton became president: 9
- Democrat officeholders who have become Republicans since Clinton became
president: 439 as of 1998
- Republican officeholders who have become Democrats since Clinton became president: 3

You might want to sort through these lists:

Of course, the list of criminal RATs is always growing so you'll be sure to add more for years to come.
