Bravo - but he should not be allowed to be at a Catholic institution without a pledge to NOT participate in homosexual conduct since it is against the tenets of The Church.

A hopeful sign. This doesn't happen very often.

Man, how things have changed in South Orange. Seton Hall was infamous as the place that allowed Playboy access to its coeds in the late 1980s.

Things have changed there since the Dorm fire, Clemenza. They are still repairing an image problem.

"She works for a Roman Catholic institution," Mott said. "If the church didn't have this position (against homosexuality) no dean would have to be so guarded on this issue." You think! She hired you, probably knowing all about you, and you abused your position to push your views and betrayed her trust! Mott, you arrogant jerk!

Seton Hall also does recognize or support TRUTH Trust Respect and Unity at the Hall a gay straight alliance

This guy needs a smack upside the head. The pedophile scandals currently besieging the church are ALL MALE HOMOSEXUAL in nature.
In actual fact, he should be dismissed and excommunicated for his open and blatant flauting of church doctrine.
I'd say more, but I value remaining a member here.

He cannot be an official in an serious Christian organisation.
Christ did not say, "Go and send Some More," afterall.
Happy to see Anglican Catholic and Roman Catholic finally taking a stance.

Seton Hall also does recognize or support TRUTH Trust Respect and Unity at the Hall a gay straight alliance The acronym is really quite humorous as the organization it identifies objectivly promotes the opposite of truth...

Mott, who is openly gay and said he lives with his partner, wrote in the letter that that the Catholic church is unfairly attacking gay men and making them scapegoats for the church's pedophile scandal.
When nuns start acting like Mary Kay Letourneau and assaulting young men, then the church can make heterosexual women scapegoats . But right now the only pedophile scandal that it has is owing to worst kind of homosexual perverts. That ain't scapegoating that is just the truth of the matter.

I don't understand why he wasn't fired. It is a subjective call guided by the fact that he is human and merits dignity and respect in addition to the fact that he suffers the homosexual disorder. As an individual suffering the homosexual disorder and apparently also choosing to participate in homosexual activity he potentially incites, confusion, scandal and he merits just discrimination in several regards e.g. he can not hold positions that would necessarily be proximate to temptation he may encounter suffering the homosexual disorder, he can not teach etcetera.... Apparently moving him was adequate? If he continues to proclaim homosexuality 'normal' publicly and or on campus and or work to contravene Church teaching -his position would probably be reevaluated...
