"Profiles in Moderation"
Profiles in cowardice.
Why is that such a sore point for you? I'm just asking because I've seen you post that oln other threads.
LOL

Because I am so irratated about the culture of abortion. The rationalist, the libertarian, would argue in favor of abortion on demand as a general rule ... just like a leftist.
The primary group most ardently opposed to abortion on demand is evangelical christians...a group that firmly believes there is more to life than 'law'.
But the SCOTUS direction is now more than ever, legalistic.
Polygamy, thus, legally, is a rational way of life that will soon be forced down our throats...
I just love how "The Hill" tries to say that its non-partisan. Its a magazine "For and about Liberals on the Hill".
What happens in a McCain vs. Hillary mathcup? I think I hold my nose and vote McCain, fully expecting to get screwed by McCain, whereas Hillary will be a travesty for America.
I think he can kiss it goodby anyway. Why doesn't he just switch from GOP to DEM and get it over with? I'm tired of him kissing Teddies rear.
Funny, I don't see him spending much time talking to his constituents.. all his communications are to ask for money.... not opinions...
Look, the only way he's going to get the nomination is if he gets through the primaries... and independents and dems can't vote in most states for a GOP in primaries.... so the odds of him being our candidate is nill and none.... good time for libertarians to register GOP so they can vote against McCain and for a good candidate.
I disagree. He has nothing to lose, conservatives aren't going to vote for him anyway.
Therefore, expect the usual sneaky back-stabbing.
Yes, there are activists (special interest groups, if you must) on both sides who advocate in the media. That's a bad thing in and of itself?? McCain's comment is insulting to activists in general, as if they should shut up and let those fabulous Senators rule the world. But it is especially insulting to those working for ideals which presumably mesh well with the platform of his own party.
McCain thinks he represents moderates, that great bulk of the voters in the middle between left and right extremes. Nice theory, but in fact moderates are a shifting sand and without another base (say conservative) to bolster his alleged support, McCain can't win. His biggest problem as a putative Pres. candidiate, however, is he can't win the primary.
I don't think he has any real constituents except the theoretical ones.
OK, that I can see and accept.
What about the southern part? (and I am a southerner, and think we would be the best, especially when it comes to limited government)
Listening to him tonight..... he's totally out of touch with what should be his base.... and you're right, he will never make it through the primaries, not matter how much the media fawns over him. He honestly thinks the 'people' want everyone to just get along.
I use the term 'southern' loosely. It is my euphemism for 'Trinitarian'.
The Democrats lost, period. Sit down and shut up. We have work to do.
That all sounds good to me!
Thanks for the answers!
Have a good day.
