No, no no, I'm not unappeasable. I'm glad W signed the gun lawsuit bill. But I can't think of much else in 5 years.Tax cuts, War on Terror, partial birth abortion ban, among others. Those are all biggies, IMO.

Tax cuts, War on Terror, partial birth abortion ban, among others. Including nominating (UN skeptic) Bolton to the post of U.S. ambassador to the UN, and sticking to his guns on Kyoto.

Still on the wife analogies, I see. Why, I'm not too terribly certain. I guess, instead of beating a dead horse, you're beating your wife, lol. I don't understand what you're talking about here.
I use analogies that fit. You don't like 'em, I see. Can't make everybody happy.
I like Alito very much. My two Senators have already come out in favor, so that's a good thing.

Wonder who didn't like it? Probably a combo of those who'd only be happy if the President nominated their particular favorite and those who find Alito a bit too conservative for their moderate tastes.

Duh. The conservative base was already rallying around Alito and others on the short list. It wasn't time for us to rally around a nominee. It was time for GWB to rally around the base and make a serious pick. It's about friggin' time, really.

I agree. Now that Alito is the pick of the President, it is time to go to bat for him. If Ginsberg can be confirmed 96-3, then Alito cannot be defeated for his politics. The nominee deserves an up or down vote.

I supported Miers, because I believed W was entitled to his choice. I strongly support this choice.

Conservatives began to rally when his name was floated Thursday/Friday. Both feet firmly splashing in the water today.
